Can I wear "women's" running shoes?

Do you mean, could they be too narrow even if they DO feel right? If the shoe fits, wear it

Does the store have a return policy on runnies? If not, find one that does. Honestly, I pretty much know a shoe fits or it doesn't the moment I try it on. I do run a bit in them anyway before buying.

My ex-father-in-law used to buy women's running shoes ... he did have incredibly narrow feet.

As a former shoe-dog ignore everything except how they fit.  There will be no down side.  I have seen shoes that fit like socks on a rooster but they do fit someone.

I too have a narrow foot except it is a size 13.  I have to be very careful to find styles or brands that work for me (read too expensive).  There was a great German brand of running shoes many years ago that always ran narrow and long.  Great for me but that is likely why they didn't survive.

Kidding aside, I don't see the problem as long as the shoe fits your foot well. Run short distances in it first and make sure it doesn't cause any hot spots or pinch points. 

Women's shoes tend to be a size narrower then men's in width and toe box.

I buy men's shoes as they are wider than women's shoes. I go down 1-1.5 sizes buying men's shoes.

I have a pair of Bright Orange Asics right now but have been complaining for years  that the women's models have better colors than the men's models do.  It is not just the pinks either.  They have a neons, purples, teal, etc.  I never tried on a womans pair on but if they fit well would take them.
