Anyone start signing up for Tri's in 2013? Doing Nautica South Beach Olympic in April and Eagleman 1/2 Ironman in June.

I'm already signed up for Rev 3 Quassy (Olympic) and I'll be signed up for the NYC tri as soon as registration opens and I can use my free entry code.

Not sure what other ones I'll do. Probably the Rock and Roll tri in April and Atlantic City in September.

I'm planning to do Eagleman in 2014.

Hi! I am glad you asked this! I am new to NY so looking forward to seeing which ones people go for..

This season I did Smith Point, Staten Island, Atlantic City and Bassman (fall)

All were good fun races in their own way but I would like to spread my wings a little more next season.

I have been looking into the nautica South Beach and am interested in doing Bassman again and smith point.  but it can get a little hard picking - there are so many

Only one I am signed up for is IMLP, but will probably do Bassman HIM(spring) again in 2013...no hills but will use it as a big brick and worry about hills elsewhere in my training....tahts all i am concentrating on for now, but may add a late season sprint or oly

So far the only race I signed up for was Eagleman, which will be my first attempt at a 70.3

I did the international distance. This is only my first real season so the half distance is outa my league. I loved the location - really nice to cycle on quiet roads and to run in the woods. Unfortunately the weather was cold - the warmest part of the day was the swim - water was perfect , for me anyway. I enjoyed the event regardless though.

Check out my race report in above,  ...I did the half in the spring....quickly I recommend it for someones first HIM......calm lake waters, flat bike and forgiving run.

I'm signed up for Eagleman as well. I was going to do Pawling, but same day races in different states are not possible.
I was thinking of Devilman in NJ as a warm up for Eagleman. I am going to pass on NYC. I don't know why. I may change my mind by lottery time. maybe Rev 3 Quassy.. Dunno
I dont know what else yet ..

Thats not a bad Idea. The Devilman has a half lite 50. I might do the same thing before Eagleman. Great, I now have April,May and June covered. Great Motivation for winter!!

The only race that I'm registered for in 2013 is IMWI on 9/8. I am definitely looking to do at least one HIM and would like to do a couple of Oly's. I was thinking Riverhead Rocks for one of the Oly's on 6/30 as much as I didn't care for the swim in the canal the overall event was pretty good.

For the HIM I am thinking of doing Syracuse. Has anyone done that one? I've read several of the RR's and it looks like they have changed the course the last 3 years. I think that one is on 6/23 and it looks like a decent course. I'd like to do the MightyMan HIM again in 2013 but I doubt I will do it this year as it is after IMWI and that will probably be my last race of the season.

yes, forgot this one too......I did it also and other than some algae that was floating on the water near the dock (that was probably do to the rains we had preceeding that weekend) it was a good swim, and great for spectators both on the swim and run....I enjoyed that running through the town feel that you do not get in most triathlons

I raced Syracuse last summer. I really enjoyed it. We had fun in town for a couple of days and the race itself was great, although the run course is a beast.

Thanks for posting this and I read your post about it in the other thread on Syracuse. I am definitely leaning towards doing Syracuse next year. It would be fairly close for me and I don't mind the course being challenging. I would actually welcome that and it's good to hear the area is pretty nice with lot's to do.

Other 70.3 - highly recommended musselman in July. Toughman in sept if you want a challenge and don't mind bees at T2 and the finish.

Races for 2013.
May - red bank tri
June - quassy oly or half, hits full(doing aqua bike as a tune up)
July - Nj state if I don't do the Harlem valley century
August - mont tremblant IM
sept - jarden tri - highly recommend Olympic

In addition to doing IMWI 2013 I signed up for both Syracuse 70.3 and Riverhead Rocks Olympic Tri. I am looking forward to doing all the races. Syracuse will be my first time but I did Riverhead Rocks last year and I really enjoyed doing that race. Need to find one more local Olympic Tri that is earlier in the season and local preferrably on Long Island.
