Anybody planning to watch the debate tonight?

What does Biden need to do to win?

What does Ryan need to do to win?

Predictions?

I think I'm actually looking forward to this one more than I was last week's.  Maybe it's just the "unknown" of Ryan's debating abilities more than anything.  He certainly has a command for facts and figures, so my guess is he'll make swiss cheese of any statistics Biden may stretch a little.  If Ryan stretches any statistics (which he probably will) I'm curious if Biden will have enough to challenge him on it directly.

Either way, I feel all the pressure is on Biden because a back to back debate flop for Obama/Biden could be terminal for the campaign.

*edit: oh and somebody needs to come up with something clever about it being on 10/11/12

Happy Subsequential Day!

I think Ryan's best move would be to bring-up something that's a little open-ended and let Joe go where Joe goes.  He's been practicing tough stuff he should go with something off the edge like "I'd like to hear what the vice president's thoughts are on the fact that the doctor that gave us UBL was jailed and sentenced to death by the pakistan government?"

Joe would go to some strange places with something that open-ended.

I actually think Joe is pretty good in debates.  His gaffes have all come in-front of awe-struck audiences or directly talking to reporters (Indian comment, Barrack Obama Clean comment).

Ryan's greatest risk is getting wonky...He is a wonk.  He can't go wonky.

Anybody planning to watch the debate tonight? Most likely.

What does Biden need to do to win? Win?  I don't know... keep his mouth shut would be a good start.  Seems like every time he opens it he promptly puts his foot in it.

What does Ryan need to do to win? Speak the truth.

Predictions? Al Gore comes up with some hair-brained reason why Biden came off looking like an idiot.

Al Gore even knows the line "That's just Joe being Joe..."
