Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I wouldn't consider myself much of a hunting expert, in fact, I would call myself the furthest thing you could be from an expert. But had my first chance to go pheasant hunting today. One of my customers asked me to join them and I would have rather been out on a bike or long run but 6 hours of walking, carrying a shot gun, and having a battering ram drill my shoulder all morning was a ton of work. However, it was a ton of fun and I may have been underestimating the attraction to this sport. Anyways, there were 5 in our group, we got 30 birds (which I guess is alot) and I'm pretty sure I got 3 of them. Hope you all are having a great weekend. |

I always get a kick out of folks who don't hunt until they are adults.......it's very foreign to me since I was hunting/fishing from my earliest memories. In one of the greatest ironies of my life, I'm too busy doing s/b/r with my kids to get them out hunting much. My Grandpa must be rolling over in his grave. |

I've been fishing since I was 3 years old and I have introduced all three of my sons, when they were 3, to the amazing feeling of reeling in their first walleye. Great experiences. When it comes to hunting, I know my place at home. To quote my lovely wife: "If you bring a gun home, it better be the new apartment you plan on living in!" And I know she means it. |

It's all good...good for you in getting your sons out fishing. You don't need to hear that....you get it. I'm assuming you eat what they catch? Nothing better for a kid than the confidence that comes from knowing they can get their own food. |
