Subject: RE: 50k training - back to back weekend long runsI doubt it matters much. The most important thing for a 50k, like a marathon, is probably total volume. Second most important thing is putting in the total volume at a good pace as opposed to dragging your sorry a$$ through the runs. Third most important thing could be a lot of things, one of them may be those quality back to back runs, one of them may be over mileage runs, one of them may be more M pace runs or T Pace runs or, gasp, intervals, but who knows.
That is my theory anyways.
Regarding tired legs, once I hit 100km + weeks my legs are always tired, and I don't do any back to back long runs. |
