Subject: Spread some good news

We all have seen enough negativity lately, and while I understand that grieving needs to happen, I also think we need to start seeing and hearing about GOOD things.  This isn't going to be a forum for debating this or that, just one to bring up good news of any sorts (personal, global, or otherwise).  I'll start...

My good news of my day so far has been welcoming 27 graduates of technical training into my career field in the Air Force.  Out of 270 that were screened when they entered basic training for my job, only 27 made the cut.  Congrats to them on persevering through some tough training, and welcome to an amazing career!

Who's next?

If you are under a clear sky tonight you can catch a rockin meteor shower....best from midnight until about 4 am.  Last night we counted nearly 80 from 12:30 to about 1:45.  It's the Geminid shower....probably the year's  best.

Well my friends daughter who has a rare genetic disorder which, among other things, gave her cancer (She is 14) does NOT need emergency surgery.  Its was for an orthopedic problem (I am an orthopedic surgeon but live far from them) and her mom called me in a panic today.  I was 99.9% sure she did NOT need surgery, emergency or otherwise, but without seeing the radiographic studies myself it was hard to be 100%.  Very pleased to be right

I saw 3 or 4 last night & they were awesome.  A chest cold prevented me from staying out & watching more.  It's raining here tonight.
