Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 30/36
Pre-race routine:

Ibuprofen and gel before swim
Good stretch and shoulder mobility too

111/142 females
Swim
  • 29m 44s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 59s / 100 meters
Comments:

Big wave - lots of battling for space
Kept getting on a suitable hip then being closed down by someone from the side and having to find a new one/stay on their feet.
What would you do differently?:

Get off even quicker I think - there was battling until over 1/2 way round for water space

Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Better at getting into shoes this time. Grabbing velcro to the side worked well. Just need to keep improving balance so I don't have to slow down for as long.
Bike
  • 1h 33m 33s
  • 25 miles
  • 16.03 mile/hr
Comments:

Worked hard all the way through so was pleased.
Had to stop for a procession of cows to be parted so I could pass. Must've taken a minute to sort out.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - did my best
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Felt a bit pooped coming in from the bike thought I had a long stretch left but turned in and there was transition so didn't get chance to take shoes off before dismount.
Stopped put feet down clumsily clambered off then got my trainers on etc. Bit slow for me.
What would you do differently?:

Have taken shoes off and jumped off bike
Run
  • 53m 23s
  • 10 kms
  • 05m 20s  min/km
Comments:

Felt tired off the bike but soon got into my stride with the run. Felt like I was pushing along although was surprised at the time. Was pretty consistent pace all the way round.
What would you do differently?:

Worked hard
Post race
Warm down:

Drinking lots

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Worked hard all the way through - felt i did my best today

Nice job on your race!  I chuckled at having to wait for the cows.  Sounds like something that would happen where I live.
