Subject: Evernote security breach?
Got a message from them via the app on my phone yesterday that they were resetting all passwords (did confirm potential security breach before doing anything multiple sources online). My friend got an email (I did not) she couldn't get online. I could yesterday. (Side note - last night we lost power)

I can not get on the internet via my home wireless or direct access to modem (I am using my hotspot). Signal strength shows "Excellent" yet it won't connect. Says no internet access.

I have run Norton and found nothing don't know if not being able to get online due to Evernote or power outage (suspect the former)

Help!?

Evernote hasn't affected my ability to access the internet, if that helps.  I hate to play terrible IT guy, but have you tried resetting your router and/or modem?

An Evernote security breach would have nothing to do with your home network access. Unplug your modem and your router. Plug the modem back in, after about 5 minutes plug the router back in. Restart your computer/laptop.

Agreed - but we also had power outage - can't explain and I've reset, and turned off for HOURS and tried again - show "excellent" signal strength but can't connect (even direct with ethernet cable) but can connect to hotspot

Sounds like your ISP is jacked up.

Call your ISP. I recently had a similiar problem where things in my house looked fine, but I couldn't connect to the internet. I hounded my ISP, they sent someone to my house, even though I told them the problem wasn't there. He came out, made sure there was a dial tone on the line connected to the modem and said the problem wasn't here. He went in to the central site and there was a bad card on the switch. He moved me to a new switch and I had network access again.

Yup.

String signal strength on your wireless simply means that you've got a good connection between your computer and your router.  It tells you nothing about the connection between your router and your ISP.  Most routers have a utility page with PING and/or TRACEROUTE functionality built in that you can use to test whether or not you have a connection to the outside.  Overall, though, if there is no connection to the ISP, your best bet is to simply call the ISP - they may already be aware of some issue and can inform you of it.   It's not uncommon for buried lines to get cut by construction digging in the area, etc...  If you had a power outage, it could also be that they have equipment offline, or the WAN port on your router may be fried.
