If I have already imported a training plan, what happens if I import another one that covers some of the same period? For example, next year I'll be training for a 70.3 which takes place at the end of August. However I am also targeting doing a marathon a month or so later. What I'd like to do is import the half IM training plan and a marathon training plan and then knock out some of the half IM runs and replace with the marathon training runs. Is this possible?

Thanks

Graham

I should be possible.  If you want to strictly follow the marathon plan, then import the HIM plan WITHOUT the runs (deselect them), then import the marathon plan with only the 'runs' selected.  That way nothing from the HIM should get overwritten in the overlap.

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly Champion. Unfortunately I imported the half IM plan first! Do I need to start again and do the imports in the order of marathon followed by the half IM with the runs excluded? If I need to do that, how do I remove the half IM I've already imported.

Thanks

Graham

You still should be fine, import the Marathon plan and it should overright all the HIM runs in the overlap.

Brilliant, thanks for your help.

Nice to be back - I moved over to TrainingPeaks when I couldn't import multiple workouts into BT and missed you guys so much. I'm really impressed at how you've improved the site over the last year or so, it's the only place to be!

Using a high-volume schedule for many months is not the best tactic. Build speed and skill several months out, and then transition to a high-volume IM plan.

This plan is designed to make you go faster. 3 workouts per week in each sport, 2 days of strength training and core work. The maximum volume is around 10 hours toward the end of the 12 weeks.

This plan is an advanced plan in terms of volume and intensity and appropriate for someone who is looking to go under 5:00 and as fast as 4:30. There isn’t a lot of fluff in the plan.
