Try this comic:

http://what-if.xkcd.com/1/

The author is very knowledgeable in his speculations.

That is great.  Every high school physics teacher should make it required reading.  No. No.  Better strategy.  The teachers should tell them to stay away from it and never read it.

Our school is trying to do that - XKCD is listed as porn; I figure if I try to show them "What if" or any of the cartoons in class and it shows it is blocked as porn, some are likely to check it out.

I've had XKCD bookmarked for years, and the "What if" series is terrific. I don't know if I could list only one or two of them as my favorites because there are so many really great ones.

What if a pitcher could throw a baseball at the speed of light?
If a T-Rex were released in NYC, how many humans would it need to eat each day in order to achieve its needed calorie intake?

Total nerdgasm.

I just found out from this site that, 500 million years ago, the earth used to have 22-hour days.

I also am tempted to buy this shirt:

That really only helpful if it is December 24 and you are 7 years old.
