Feeling a bit of burnout, talk about it here if you're interested: http://trifattytri.blogspot.ca/2014/07/lead-in-to-ironman-zurich.ht...

I'm in a somewhat similar place. I'm signed up for my 5th IM for September. Pesky problem is that I did the race last year thinking it would be my last IM, but since I broke my toes kicking an underwater rock at the swim start(I still finished) I went home angry and signed up to get revenge.

My issue is that I am a much(FOP) stronger ultra runner and that's where my interest is. I have a huge race in December and the IM in September is feeling like its in my way. I'm waaaaaaaaay behind in bike training, swim I'm fine, running 80+ a week, so plenty there. I'm totally spun about what to do. Do I cut my losses and not start(and save a ton of hotel money) or just gut it out knowing it will suck?

I feel you, just a different angle.

Yups I did an IM 1 month ago and not recovering as quickly as I would like with a 2nd IM in 2 months. This is my first year of doing 2 in the same year. It looks to be a long day for #2.

I'm curious about the 'don't increase your run by more than 10% per week' rule. Is there a minimum mileage under which this doesn't apply?

I recently registered for Ironman Florida. My ambition and dream was to take part in an Ironman. Does this schedule set me up for burnout, or should I just build the distances in 2013 very gradually?

Often it makes sense to race slower in order to finish faster and at the same time have a more enjoyable Ironman Triathlon experience.

Why do triathletes need a recovery week and why do we feel so bad during it?

Iron distance racing depends on the three pillars of pacing, nutrition and mental outlook. Training these three areas can significantly improve your race.

Executing this full Ironman plan for 17 weeks would give people with one Ironman under their belts very good preparation for a 2nd and 3rd. Preferably, you should have a 6:30 or faster HIM time.

How should I go about training for the marathon while also building base in the other two events? Doing this seems like it's causing me to break the 10% rule in running.

Yes, the Dual is a little heavier than Cervèlo’s high end counterparts. But…the price is within reach of the masses and it still incorporates all of the design features that make a Cervèlo special.
