 20 Springboro, Ohio |  Subject: NewbWell I'm a Newb to the three sport sport if there ever was one. I ran in high school and throughout my Army career, swam in high school and have never been in a bicycle race. Now I'm going to try all three at once.... My plan thus far is to put in as many miles as I can for a married, father of two in hopes of finishing my first Sprint Tri by the end of the year. I'm going to build up using a couple Duals. I live between Cincinnati and Dayton, OH; any suggestions on good first time Sprint Tris? I was thinking about the Great Buckeye Challenge in June, but info is helpful. |

Master 2216  Columbus, OhioCoaching member | Subject: RE: Newb Welcome! Great Buckeye Challenge is a good one. There's a race at Caesar Creek, usually, which would be closer to you. It's also put on by HFP. If memory serves, a local group near you puts on a series of weeknight races (Wednesday nights or something?) at Caesar Creek, just for training purposes. I think they are timed, but it's inexpensive and mostly self-supported. Also check out our Ohio forum! |
