Hello Everyone,

I'm starting to train for my first ever triathlon (sprint). I'm from Parker, Colorado and am looking for others in Colorado to talk with, discuss, and possibly train with. Is there anyone out there from Colorado?

H E L P .... ;-)

Hope to hear from you...

Welcome!  What race are you doing?  I know there's one in Parker in September.

I live way on the other side of Denver from you (Westminster).  I've heard there is a tri club in Denver also.  You will find lots of advice in the forums, or feel free to send a message (PM link below my post)

Good luck!

Hi Dustin

one great place to practice open water swimming is at chatfield gravel pit (it is nicer than it sounds) with Colorado Masters Swimming Assoc. www.comsa.org TONS of triathletes go there.

good luck

Hello! There are a few Coloradoans on this board...I live/train way up north so I can't help with training group advice that would be convenient for you. Awesome that you found this board and good luck in your training. Hope to see you on a course sometime!

Welcome Dustin

What race are you looking at for your first?

I live on the other side of the hill so it makes it a little hard to get a training session with you

good luck

Thank you COgirl... I actually work in Lafayette, so westminster is closer on those days. I'll be doing the Fall Frenzy (www.fallfrenzy.com) in Parker. I hope to find some I can pace with. Right now my pace goes with the MP3 player ;-) and I don't think I'll have that the day of the race. ;-)

Mary,

Thanks for the advice. Right now I just pool swim locally. Freestyle kills me...no more than 150yrds and i'm sucking wind. However, if I switch over to breaststroke, I could swim all day. I'll keep monitoring for other suggestions of thoughts....

Thanks again.
