Swim
Comments: Snake swim was all bunched up starting at 125 yards and continued that way for another 100 yards. Probably cost me 15-20 seconds What would you do differently?: Start with faster group to avoid slow swimmers who think they can swim fast. Avoid pool swims with snaking Transition 1
Comments: Socks ripped, arm warmers wouldn't go on, and wind breaker zipper had problems What would you do differently?: Go with pull over windbreaker if weather is down pour like this race Bike
Comments: I had to stop to buckle helmet right before completion of first loop. Forgot to buckle strap coming out of T1. This cost me about 30 seconds because I had to stop, clip out, buckle, then clip back in and get going again What would you do differently?: Buckle strap in T1 Transition 2
Comments: Delay was caused by removal of jacket, zipper was stuck What would you do differently?: Use pullover jacket in bad weather Run
Comments: So much rain that feet, shoes were soaked. What would you do differently?: Don't use socks as it made feet heavier with socks water logged Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Weather, pool back up with snake swim, and bad T1 Event comments: Get rid of snake swim. Instead have lane assignments and have swim done in same lane. Avoids problem of slow swimmers seeding themselves as faster swimmers. With a volunteer on each lane, they track completed laps. I have done this at other pool swim triathlons and it works great. Set up lane assignments based on estimated time to complete 300. Use past results at race to audit estimated times on lane assignments. Last updated: 2016-04-22 12:00 AM
