Subject: RE: 7.25.16 Monday Morning! Originally posted by Jwse30 This morning was my 2 minute plank followed by 22 pushups while the coffee brewed. After that was a 1.15 mile run, at as fast as I can pace. After my disappointing run in my tri, I decided I was going to start doing some sprinting to try to speed myself up. I started with one mile and am adding .05 miles to it each (every other) day. I am sure I will still be disappointed in the run, but hopefully not as much so. Have a great day all! J White Considered doing interval training? When I was at my fastest (running), my weekly routine was pretty simple. Long run at easy pace. Once a week, I did 1 mile intervals at tempo interval pace, with 1' rest between. You can get a lot of the same kinds of benefits from shorter intervals (1/2 mile, or even 1/4 mile), but you'll need to adjust both effort level and rest intervals. |
