Swim
Comments: Was crowded but I felt this swim was a good reflection of my increased focus of getting better in the water. The wave included men and women which was different than I'm used to. What would you do differently?: Typically I start in the back of my wave but I think I'm fast enough that I need to start closer to the front now. I should try sprinting in the beginning and then settling in. This would help a lot with the crowds. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: It was a little windy and the course was a little hilly. However, considering the last two months that my bike training has almost entirely been my 6 mile commute I killed this! I would say the one downside of this race is that the bike is crowded. I think I've heard that from others who do buffalo every year. I got super annoyed when a guy on a tri bike passed me on the inside towards the end of the bike length. He should know better! What would you do differently?: Looking forward to biking more this summer and getting faster. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Hilly/rolling run. First mile or so had a few little hills which are very challenging as your legs are getting acclimated to running. I passed a few folks on the run and I know I passed one woman in my AG. Post race
Event comments: I did buffalo tri about 8 years ago. It's a fun race. It is about 1 hour from my house but the lake is beautiful and the bike course is interesting. Last updated: 2017-06-04 12:00 AM
