 2 |  Subject: Change Components or New BikeI have a Fuji Norcom Straight 2.3 Triathlon Road Bike - 2015, love the bike! Bought it used (owner was to tall/used once) and I got it for half the price. I have had it for about 2 years and all upgrades could be moved to a new bike. It has SRAM components: They have been fine so far, but looking to upgrade. What level of Shimano components would make a difference and does anyone know approx. cost and if this bike is compatible? Bottom Bracket: Oval Concepts, BB86 press-fit Cassette: SRAM PG-1130, 11-26T, 11-speed Crankset: Oval Concepts 520, forged 6066 arms, 52/36T - (PowerTap/Power Meter) Front Derailleur: SRAM Rival22, braze-on mount Rear Derailleur: SRAM Rival22, 11-speed Shifters: SRAM SL-1150 R2C aero bar end TT, 11-speed Thanks for help and comments. |

If you want to change out everything you mentio, it will cost around $800 - 1000. Maybe a littless if you can get them at a discount. I I question the reasons you give for upgrading. What you described sound like all that is needed is some maintenance and possibly changing out the worn parts like the chain and cassette. The change in components will not make much if any difference in your performance. That comes from hard work. |

I've ridden a cassette for more than 10K miles and it still shifted smoothly the day I sold the bike. I doubt the bike has that many miles. The derailleur limit screws and cable tension need to be adjusted. Your local bike shop can handle it. |

| Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Change Components or New Bike +1 to the 'no need to replace' responses. Take it to a reputable bike shop and get a tune-up done. Since it's a used bike it might not be a bad idea for the shop to go over the bike to make sure everything is in good order (screws, cables, brakes, derailleur, etc). |
