Comments: Hit this at the pace I had planned. What would you do differently?: Could have trained more. Transition 1
Comments: Long uphill to bike staging area from lake. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Right knee was going to be an issue from training issue, watched pace to minimize stress on knee. Course was good, better than previous years. Transition 2
Comments: Long transition area. Run
Comments: I came into this race with PF, had an 8 mile run as my longest run prior to the race, was going to be slow. Planned run walk strategy. Pain in heal kicked up after the first 8 miles making the rest of the marathon kind of painful and slow going. Still did run walk, just much slower. Managed the pain, got er done. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed food drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Right knee muscle issue, PF in left foot. This impacted training and race performance. Made it to the finish line at predicted paces taking these things into consideration. Event comments: Solid race, best of the 3 courses I have run at Santa Rosa. I will be back, hopefully without injury this time. Last updated: 2017-12-12 12:00 AM
