Comments: In 11 starts at this event, this was by far the most heat stressed. Official weather records show that the RH was 100% (!!) for the first 3.5 hours of the race and then dropped to 92% by my race finish. Never seen so many paramedic incidents late in the race. The heat stress is obvious in my dramatic drop in pace beyond 30km. Warm down: Beer. What limited your ability to perform faster: L) proximal hamstring tendon limiting any long runs in this campaign. Event comments: 40th anniversary race. 2km walk to the start. Short low key run at start line so as to not aggravate L) proximal hamstring tendon.
