Subject: New tech strategy for spam
From our programmer:

All accounts 30 days or newer will now have invisible google captcha on all thread posts
If they attempt to post a lot, or if their IP has a bad reputation, they’ll get one of those picture puzzle things you see. “Identify all the street signs” for example.

These spammers are already solving the invisible CAPTCHA on account registration to get in in the first place.

Spammers will often just solve the CAPTCHAs by hand and spam anyway. There is an entire industry built up around this, where companies pay people to solve them.

So, this may not end the spam, but it may help. And it will at least cost the spammers a little money.

So if they lay dormant for 30 days they are good to go?

How about less than 10 posts and/or 30 days?

Spammers don't lay dormant for 30-days.  Most of the spammers now days are robots.  They're programmed to continuously surf the web, find a site they can exploit and then go to town - as evidenced last weekend.
