Subject: Trump - genius or idiot
From the beginning I had my doubts about Trump - was he an idiot or genius? To hear him muddle the English language I was beginning to think the former. And to this day I abhor his rambling, bragging orations. But the thing that keeps coming to mind is his bandwidth. I have worked and for idiots and geniuses and the one thing the geniuses all had in common was the scope and breath of their knowledge of what is going on. I’ve watched Trumps impromptu press conferences before boarding a plane or helicopter and he addresses virtually every question with up to date knowledge on the subject. I don’t remember any former President who held almost daily press interviews. Most would simply ignore the questions or answer 1 or 2 that they had been brief on by handlers. Trump often goes off script and steps on his own message but at least he answers the questions himself.

Look at other billionaires and you will see the uncanny ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously.

I depends what the warrant says and who/what we are looking for.  A "no-knock" warrant will be issued if we can articulate why we believe someone in the place we are searching is armed/dangerous.  If we can't, we knock......you get a chance to answer the door so you don't have to buy a new one.  We'll give you about 2 minutes, normally.  If you start running around the house,  we are coming in.

Trump does like to ramble. I watched the entire speech live and said several times, “yeah you said that already”.

I did read where someone thought his emphasis on the dog was strategic as Muslims view dogs as unclean. I also read several people saying his description of the death might “inspire” revenge. As if ISIS is not inspired to kill people.

Obama was a good orator but I people can identify with Trump’s awkward, shoot from the hip, style. It is certainly more fun to watch IMO since you never know what he is going to say. People talk about his bragging and exaggerated comments “best in the history of the country”. I just chuckle and think “bless his heart”.

As an example of Trump’s add libs....

Trump is awarding the Congressional Medal of Honor. He says, “Today we award the Congressional Medal of Honor, nothing like it...

Nothing like it? Sounds like he is describing the best BBQ sandwich he’s ever had. You hire professional speech writers...sometimes you just need to follow the script and trust the speech.

I bet you can't wait for his "fireside chat" reading of the Zelensky transcript, which isn't a transcript, but it's perfect....well not perfect but good :-)

I agree with most of what's been said here.

My personal opinion is that he has very good instincts and it's treated him very well throughout his life.  He's far from perfect and most definitely makes mistakes, but when he gets really weird I tend to think there's alternative reasons for it.

As an example with the awkward dog talk his delivery was terrible, but he wanted to make sure the entire ISIS world knew that their leader died like a sniveling coward and more importantly was killed by a dog because it's an extreme insult to radical islamists.
It basically knocks him down several pegs from the "deity" that he projected himself as.
Readers digest version, he said what he said to take the wind out of the sails of the ISIS movement.

I do feel he's expertly manipulated the media like a laser pointer with a cat.  For months we would have crazy "leaks" that came from the whitehouse and the media would go crazy with them.  Then like clockwork one or two days later something would be released that showed the leak was completely fake.  This didn't just happen once or twice, it happened dozens of times.  I've read enough spy novels to know you flush out moles and leakers with "stories", so I feel that's why there were so many.
Even the whole Ukraine call thing.  Any normal person would think on the heels of the Russia collusion investigation he would be on egg shells talking to foreign leaders.  Trump made almost an awkward effort to bring up Biden in the call.  It was almost as if he knew it would get out and the press would run with it.  There were a bunch of people on the call listening to it.  Sure enough, it came out and went crazy in the media but the silver lining is they've now covered one of the most corrupt dealings in political history.  i'm not talking about Trump, I'm talking about what Biden and his son did.

Anyways, I think he's a terrible speaker and it's not his gift in any way.  I think he is very calculating in what he wants to say, but often delivers it in disjointed and awkward ways.  However, the more awkward and disjointed he delivers it the more coverage it seems to get.  So, who knows.  Maybe he's a great orator and has been playing us all along.  (ok, now I'm stretching) . lol
