Pre-race routine:

up at 3:30
Coffee, Ensure, EFS Hydration
drove up to the Woodlands from my house
Event warmup:

Transition opened at 5:30 so i was there about 5:45. Haven't raced since 2017 so was super ready to just get there and take it all in.
racked bike and walked around and jogged around and stretched until my wave time at 7:08 was there. This race became a duathlon....which really sucks.. swim was cancelled due to water quality..happened last year too...im sure some people liked the swim being cancelled but it think it messes up the race.

nothing really...first race in 7 years so just wanted to enjoy it and see where i stand after 2 months of training

7 years since being on the bike...just wanted to spin at a fast rate and enjoy the ride and be ready for the 2nd run
What would you do differently?:

hind sight i would have rode my road bike...my Specialized Tarmac..
1. no need for a tri bike for this short of a ride
2. my tri bike was still set up from when I did IMTX so it is set up really "aggressive" i havent been riding it enogh to be comfortable in that aero of a position.

the dismount snuck up on me...i was out of my shoes but feet were still on top of shoes..i was planning on dismounting on the left side while still rolling...just stopped and climbed off.. felt wierd since ive always had a rolling dismount...not too worked up about it. been too long since ive raced.

paid better attention where the dismount was

swim was cancelled for the 2nd year in a row. wont do the race again unless they figure out something. imtx was just done in the same water 2 weeks ago.
