Subject: Flexibility Challenge - NOVEMBER Here is how it works: 1. Choose 1 or more activities: Stretching, Pilates, Yoga (open to suggestions for others) 2. Set a goal either in number of sessions or/and minutes. 3. Set your start date and number of days in November it will last (through November 30) 4. Log your flexibility under the sports section of your training log (there are options for stretching, Pilates, and yoga). Start increasing your flexibility! We’ll record the finals goals met by percentage. If you are doing multiple activities you’ll average the percentage of each activity to reflect the overall goal met. If you are recording one activity by both time and sessions, then average the percentage of both before averaging each activity. Below is an example of how to record it (this was taken from my participation in the October Flexibility challenge.)
October 4 – October 31 (27 days) Activity Actual Days Goal Goal met Pilates: 1h 46m 5 8 days 62.5% Stretching: 5h 47m 15 9h/27 days 64% time, 55.5% days=59.75%
Total Goal Met: 61%
OPTIONAL: To make this challenge a little more motivating to participants and beneficial to others, I’d love to make pledges for donating to a charity for those who don’t meet their goal. Of course this is not mandatory. Any ideas for charities? (My first thought was the general fund of www.worldvision.org – they “work with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.&rdquo We could have a tier system for donations/meeting goals as well. If you meet 50% or less or you goal you donate 100% of your pledge, if you meet 51-79% of your goal you donate 80% of your pledge, and if you meet 80-99% of your goal you donate 50% of your pledge. Let me know your feedback.
Now let’s get started stretching!
