For Sale: Wine Decanter

Sounds good to me. I was thinking something along those lines.

Lets wait and see what the insurance company says. If he can't claim it (without raising rates), or if they don't give enough to cover the cost of the PowerCranks, it sounds like a plan.

Side thought:  Did you tell them about the decanter when you filed a police report?  I don't know how much investigation they will be willing to do for a small theft, but if they are willing to pursue it, the decanter could come in handy.  In other words, is there a nearby store that sells this particular decanter and do they have a record of who purchased the item on the day the theft took place?

Yes we did. Also, my bike would have prints on it as well, but they didn't really care. Again, its on the bottom of their list. I don't really blame them, as we were scouring some fields looking for it thinking it may have been ditched, all I could think about was how families have to go through this, late at night, with flashlights, looking for children. I'd rather the police be looking for children and murderers anyway.

I would suspect that the decanter is stolen also.  You are obligated to a limited extent legally and a larger extent morally to return it to the rightful owner.

It is a very nice decanter.

Well  I would gladly give it back if I knew where it went. It doesn't have a store sticker on it. And the cops weren't interested...

When I do drink wine, I just pour from the bottle into mouth glass. Not much need for a decanter, maybe someone else wants it for a good price. Love makes the world go round.

We're taking all avenues to get the bike. Craigslist and Ebay are on notice, checking repeatedly and will continue to do so. All the bike shops know and we've called pawn shops.

I've already been in contact with people about getting a bike at discount. He is known around town, so hopefully that will save more money. We're awaiting word from PowerCranks as well.

I will keep everyone updated as to what insurance says and he already has a pay pal account that I will post once we know where we stand.
