Comments: Oooohhhh!! This was some nasty water! It was neon green! I think it really affected me later on the run. Tried some new technique. I couldn't really tell if it helped or not as the TA was very close to the water exit. Only occasional bumping around with other swimmers. My navigation was off, had a hard time keeping a staight line. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I did what I wanted to do as far a a better technique - grabbing the water sooner and pulling thru. Transition 1
Comments: Felt really winded coming out of the water. Had a hard time thinking of what my plan was to get my gear and go. I was greatful though - my wetsuit didn't get caught! My little plan to leave the wetsuit over my watch and timing chip worked! What would you do differently?: Leave more towel room so I can stand on it and dry my feet. This TA was in the grass and I had it all over my feet. Bike
Comments: Felt like a slug the first 5 mile out. Not sure what was going on. I was tempted to stop and make sure my break wasn't dragging, I figured it was just me and the blood hadn't left my arms yet. Riding through the town was interesting! ALOT of winding curves until we got out of town. Made it hard to get up a good speed. What would you do differently?: Not sure. This was a good pace for me. Transition 2
Comments: Wow! I didn't think I went through it that fast! Had to run with bike thru the grass about 100 yd to the TA. Racked bike, got a drink and headed out. My stomach was cramping about now. (I think I ingested too much water!) What would you do differently?: Nnothing. Run
Comments: My stomach was cramping so bad. I am thinking it was the nasty water on the swim. Alot of people complained that their stomachs ached. I guess they did have a sign posted at the waters edge about the bacteria in the water! This slowed me down! Otherwise my legs felt good. What would you do differently?: Pray for better water conditions at the next race. Post race
Warm down: Walking around, got some Hammer H.E.E.D. Cheered my hubby and friends in on their races (international dist.). What limited your ability to perform faster: Stomach ache. Event comments: HFP is great! I always enjoy myself! They are all great people and they really know how to put on a race! I got 2nd place in my age group - yeah!! More points for my in the series championship. Last updated: 2004-08-08 12:00 AM
