I recently went from dial up to wi-fi.  As such, I am now using IE for my browser instead of the AOL browser.  However, for some reason most of the pictures on web pages don't show and the little red "X" is displayed instead (i.e. all my blog pics and all the pics on the BT menu).  This did not happen when browsing with AOL.  Anyone know what to do to fix this?

Check your preferences in Internet Explorer.  There should be an option for displaying images and loading images - make sure that they are set to display.  If they are turned off, the images won't load and you'll get those little "x".

As previous posters have mentioned check the settings.

Firefox is a great browser and can be customized with various plugins and skins, and can actually download pages quicker than IE with a few changes to the settings.

A second problem might be the MTU setting, if you are using a router to connect to your ISP it should be on the settings page, or if you are using a network adapter on your pc, check the settings in the provided software.

You should be able to get the MTU settings from your service provider.

LOL at a Mac fixing this problem.

Hey I've got a problem with my in-dash CD player, should I buy a different kind of car?

You've likely lost the default settings for displaying images... See

I didn't stay at a holiday inn last night, but I do own a computer consulting company. If that does not fix your issues, email me.

IMHO, I'd hold off on Firefox.  Unless the latest build is fixed (I haven't looked in about a month) it has become a royal pain.  I don't exactly know why but they digressed.  The latest IE has tabbed browsing and fewer problems.

Which version are you using? I've got 2.0 on one computer and 1.5.0.7 on the other and both work very well(though their memory consumption could be more tidy).
