this is one of the funniest bits i've read in a while. enjoy.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/femail/article.html?in_articl...

"With all this in mind, it was probably foolish to agree to a family sunshine holiday with her in tow. The sight of Mila in a bikini draped beside the pool was almost enough to cause a riot. And don’t even talk about the holiday snaps.

After the first set of photos came back picturing me (hot, sweaty and far from sexy) next to Miss Perfect in a Prada thong, I soon learnt to move swiftly out of shot as soon as the cameras came out.

It’s not that I’m lacking in self-confidence, but would you want your photo taken next to a supermodel as you let it all hang out by the pool?"

another gem:

"So that’s the supermodel bride, Miss Wonderbra and me lined up in another set of wedding photos to treasure."

Aww I thought the writer came off as angry and vindictive. I feel bad for the supermodel who, according to the author, tries to do everything to make her new sister-in-law feel better in pictures and offered to do her make-up. Is it her fault she's pretty and thin? Is it the author's fault she's not? And the last couple grafs make the author sound like a total beeyotch!!! `I'm happy my once-thin sister-in-law is now being told she's too fat to wear swimsuits and her modeling career is now over. Hahahahaha!!!'

at least she's being honest. i don't disagree that there wasn't some vindictiveness in that last statement of hers...BUT, it just goes to show how narrow (literally) the view of beauty in our culture is. here's this incredible beauty who at a size 10 and 6' is 'FAT' that's BS. i don't think the author articulated this as being happy for the demise of her SILs career, but more that it brought her down to earth with the rest of us...that they were finally the same, once she was no longer 'perfect'.

Meow!

Women who blame their feelings of inadequacies on other women are tedious bores. Grow up! or get therapy. Both.

I found this quote ironic: "she simply raises a perfect red talon" as the writer uses her pen as claws.

I think that when you are happy with yourself, you can be happy for others. And when you are unhappy with yourself, then you will never lack for reasons to be unhappy with others.

I found the writer to be witty not vindictive. It was clearly a comedy piece and it most definitely got a giggle out of me. Thanks for sharing, Autumn!

I agree...I have often half joked and half seriously made comments like this about my really really good looking male friends.  Especially when your at a gay bar hoping to find mr. right (now), and your standing next to someone that looks like a porn star and has a PHD in physics or engineering...and its even harder when they are really down to earth nice people, because you want to hate them, but you can't.  If the writer of the peice was really that uptight about it, she wouldn't go out shopping with this woman ever.  And I think the end of the article was actually more a comment on the industry that she works in, than a slam to her sister-in-law, by trying to be witty and pointing out that a size ten is too fat.  On a side note, I think that the clothing industry is cruel to have sizes that sound so unrealistic...I mean, size 4 or 6...what the hell is that...
