Subject: '06 Orbea Aletta for Sale

I'm trying to sell my '06 Orbea Aletta.  This bike has treated me well, but despite having two professional fits, it has just never fit me quite right.  Specs:

Frame: Orbea Aletta (aluminum, carbon rear triangle)
Size: Small, 53 cm top tube, 46 cm seat tube
Fork: Zeus Aero (Orbea brand fork)
Shifters: Shimano Dura Ace
Brake Levers: Tektro RX 4.1
Brakes: Shimano Ultegra
Rear Derailleur: Shimano Ultegra 10
Front Derailleur: Shimano Ultegra 10
Chain: Shimano Ultegra 10
Cassette: Shimano Ultegra 10 (12-27)
Post: Profile RazR Carbon
Crank: FSA SLK 53-39 (172.5 crankarms)
Bottom Bracket: FSA MegaExo
Wheels: Easton Vista
Bar: Profile AluminX
Saddle: Selle Italia Nova Tri

Advertised Retail $2,369

The bike has 900 miles on it.  No mechanical problems, and I just got it back from the shop for the annual tune-up.  I've ridden it in 7 time trial races and 6 triathlons.  This is a solid, excellent riding bike with a stiff bottom bracket and good handling.  Like I said, the frame size is just wrong for me, and no amount of tweaking the fit is ever going to change that.

Given the condition of the bike, I would like to get $1600, but the price is negotiable.  The key is that I get enough money to have a respectable down payment on the replacement.  Picture attached.

I forwarded this to a local racer who may be interested. Good luck on your next bike!

C'mon now, I know you're looking at this bike, I can see the view counter.  I've had a couple of calls and one test ride this afternoon, but it's still up for grabs.

You're asking price is higher than Hitech's price for a new one.

Ouch!  Possible that the bike they are offering is a step down component-wise since it's a 105/Ultegra mix, and mine is full Ultegra, but I see your point.  Still, I said the price was negotiable, so let's negotiate.

You're a great sport mate! Great response. I'll give you a holler before I buy. Still watching other people's deals at this point.

I scored a $300 QR Kilo for my daughter. Didn't realize how good a deal that one was till I started shopping for myself.

I'm an idiot.  Looking at home the other night, I found the receipt for this bike and realized that the frame size is medium.  I cannot revise the specs above because the message is too old, but the top tube is 55 cm.  You can find full geometry on the bike on Orbea's 2006 website as well (go to www.orbea-usa.com), and in the bottom left corner of the page, there's a link to the '06 page with full specs for the Aletta and frame geometry.

I have this bike on Craigslist in Denver and just reduced the price to $1400.  Still negotiable.

What the fit of the bike a little small or a little too big? I am a little over 6' with a 34" inseam.

Little too long for me.  I'm long in the leg and short in the torso, so I need a bike with a shorter top tube.
