Subject: Separate commuting/training milage
Is there currently a way for logging bike (and even run) milage where we can specify if it is commuting milage, and even better, if we can somehow report on if it is?

For commuting, I ride much slower and have different goals (to survive and not get hit) than for my training rides.

Ultimatly, if there was a checkbox on the bike/run workout page that would be checked for commuting... Run would be good as well, as I can "commute" to the pool 3 miles away.

It'd be helpful for tracking purposes (how many commuting miles per month, etc.). With gas prices how high they are, there will only be more people commuting, I would imaging...

There isn't a way to track mileage seperately right now, but there is a "Commuter Cycling" entry in Sports that lets you track this by time.

What you're describing is multiple same trisport logging and workout subtypes which we hope to get done this year, maybe by the end of Q3 depending on some other projects that are currently in the works. This won't be a trivial project. It's going to be done concurrently with a few other enhancements that all need to be done at the same time and will require extensive testing.

There's more detail in the What's going on in the BT Labs thread.
