Comments: All racers including the Relay teams started at the same time, so it was mass hysteria, everything I read about on the site came to fruition. I didn't get kicked, but was 'sideswiped' a couple of times. Settled down and moved to the outside and got a good rythm going. What would you do differently?: Work more on speed sets/drills in training. Transition 1
Comments: Got out of wet suit pretty quick and slipped itno the bike shorts with no problem. Socks and shoes took a little longer, overall fairly quick. No one was giving split times. What would you do differently?: Start my watch to track how I am doing. Bike
Comments: Still no one calling split times. I felt strong on this event, even passed 10 or 12 riders. Very hilly course. Transition 2
Comments: Very fast here. Just took off helmet and grabbed running cap and out the gate . Also grabbed my cranberry juice and a Power Gel. Run
Comments: Very brutal run. After exiting the transition area there was a hill with about a 20% grade for a quarter of a mile. The other side of this hill was even steeper! So my quads were smokin' about the time I got down the other side. And we knew we had to run back this way to finish. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to work on swimming faster. I was comfortable with the distance, just need to hammer out some more speed drills. Event comments: Good race, plenty of volunteers on hand. Last updated: 2004-07-19 12:00 AM

PBJ and Klashi cereal. Coffee. More coffee. Filled water bottles and mixed cranberry juice with half water for my carb load. Got to site very early, was like the second or third person there.
Jammed to Blues Traveler. Light stretching. Checked Blood Sugar.
