Hello fellow biking distance people. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Pam and I have been a bad girl about biking for the past two months. So here I am, ready to put some miles on two wheels. I would love to be your team captain, but I am a Mac user with Safari. Safari and the google spreadsheet do not mix. We need some spreadsheet wonder person to step up and volunteer their services.

I originally put the puny goal of 100 miles for this challenge. I just received my training plan from my coach. She has me doing 75 for the first week. So I am upping my goal to 250 miles. We are going skiing one weekend this month so that will cut into my biking time.

I am looking forward to being amazed by all of your mileage and dedication to achieve the goals that you set out for during this challenge. Please post a brief intro to get the New Year and this new challenge off to a rolling good start!

Hello fellow cyclists!  I focused on running as well in 2007, but started to focus on the bike in December in preperation for IMLP.  I am sure the 350 miles I committed to will be done on the trainer as well being in upstate NY.

Yes, add me to those completing their distance on a trainer! Will be on the trainer until late April unless that global warming helps us out this year!

I have also been mostly running so am looking forward to getting myself going on the bike again.  I hear the bike is a good place to improve your tri time, let's do it!

Hello All,

I also am going to be spend most of my time indoors, on a stationary bike. Of course, being in Michigan, that is always subject to change. Anyway, I'm very new to all of this and just starting to get into training. I'm planning on my first tri in June, so this challange is going to kick things off.

My initial plan called for 50 miles, well after doing some math in my head, that doesn't seem like very much, so I'm upping that to 100 miles. Once I hit that, I will go up some more.

Since I live in the drought-stricken South, I'm hoping most of miles will be on the road. But I do have workouts that must be done on the trainer and it's always a great option if the drought suddenly comes to an end. I am a big wuss when it comes to riding in the rain. If I get caught it in it, that's one thing. But to start out in it, um... no!

So, anyone of you guys good at spreadheets? And does anyone have a good name for us? Biking Distance is a rather lame name.

Dee and Beth,

I'd like to up my mileage to 100 miles. Can I do this on the spread sheet, or do you one of you need to do that? Thanks,

Doug

Anyone else have any objections to my role as fearless leader? LOL

You're not the first to lose an avatar challenge... What was yours?

I don't have a problem with it. You'll make a terrific leader. Can you increase my goal to 250 miles? My browser doesn't like the spreadsheet.

Back in Sept I took the Steelers vs. the Patriots.  (My usual avatar this time of year is a Steelers picture).  I knew I was in trouble before the game even started, but I stuck with my team.

Mine will be mostly on a trainer. I haven't tried to clip in yet, but that will be conquered this month.

I'm all for Scott being team leader, and am totally inept at picking team names
