Kuwahara, like Fuji, was quite popular in the eighties but unlike Fuji seems to have disappeared from the cycling world altogether. I do not know of a Shimano component system which was called Lite Action; it is probably the name of the type of shifting it has. Shimano introduced the SIS system (on the downtube) in 1984 and the STS (integrated in the brake lever) around 1998. If there is no name on the derailler, then it is lower than Sora. In the Shimano lineup of good components, from least to best are Dura-Ace, Ultegra, 105, Tiagra, Sora.

that's backwards. Dura-Ace is the top of the line, with Sora being entry level. And I might add there is nothing wrong with Sora. But once you've shifted with Tiagra shifters or better, the location of the buttons on a Sora system are hard to get comfortable with.

Ooops! My bad! I meant to say "from the lowest to the best".... And, I agree that those Sora shifters are kind of weird to shift.

Correction: When I said "And, I agree that those Sora shifters are kind of weird to shift.", I meant to say "And, I agree that those Sora shifters are good entry level components but they are kind of weird to shift. They are similar to Campagnolo shifters which--and do not wish to spark a Campy-Shimano war here--I do not personally like.

PS...I have been taking pain killers for my back...maybe a little too much...so I although I think of given subjects, I forget to write them in! Not good in light of the fact that I am a policy analyst!!
