ScotinSeattle - 2008-02-04 9:43 AM Ok. I wasn't sure, I remember one challenge being a run/walk one but if this isn't that's ok.  I am only signed up for 10 miles and today I am feeling up to a short run but who knows it might turn into a walk. LOL

Just remember that if your doing the run walk method (mostly running), then it all counts. Either way I would check with Beth or Dee on this one.

ScotinSeattle - 2008-02-04 8:48 AM If I go for a mile walk today, does that count towards my mileage?

only if you walk with a certain bounce....hehe

some call it wralking or wogging ( which of course are a cross between - - run-walking or walk-jogging).

The ruling is that if you planned your goal to include walking, then walking counts.  So, for the people that are doing run/walk, that all counts.  When I decided to just go out for a walk last night does not count because I didn't plan on that as part of my goal.

No problem, there.  You can count all of it.

That's how I got started, too, and I had to go back to it for rehab.  Stick with it and you'll be running in no time.

Good afternoon, Scissors crew! I'm still waiting to see what my coach has in store for me this week. So no more running, yet. I did swim today, FWIW. I've been hitting the Zycom this weekend. I don't want to get the crud that's going 'round. Had a bit of a sore throat yesterday and this morning. Bah. I will not get sick. Hope everyone fights this gunk off quickly!

Pam - I have one word to say to you:

Echinacea!

ok a few more then one.....works like a champ as long as you take it right away when you feel the itchy throat...go quickly to your health food or drug store and buy a bottle...a little pricey but WELL worth it...it is a genseng root and is an immune booster....I take this whenever I feel the least bit of scratchiness to my throat...and I am proud to say that I have not had a sore throat in YEARS!!! WOOT WOOT...hopefully I will continue to say this for many more years...! Good luck and don't let that durn cold get a hold of you! feel better
