If anyone is curious, this is the rub recipe:

4 cloves garlic
10 mint leaves
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons fresh ground pepper
6 tablespoons strong mustard

Put everything in a food processor and pulse several times to mix throughly.  Spread on meat and allow to marinate for 4 to 24 hours.

that sounds really good!

my dinner tonight was a disaster

What did you make?

I made chicken tortilla soup

ooh! I think I need that recipe!

as for me, well................

I started out to make one thing - ingrediants had gone bad, thought I could make something else, ingrediants had been eaten up

ended up with stouffers frozen lazanga

meh

Hi Jen!!!

I think anytime yo put brown sugar on something it will come out good... as long as you don't burn the sugar.

Very true!!

that was the plan, but we had this stupid frozen lasagna that needed to be eaten

it was ok

as far as frozen meals go, no perservatives and it wasn't too unhealthy - now it's out of my freezer

Yep... we've had those kinds of nights... a few weeks ago hubby tried some new recipes.... let me just say that ground turkey sloppy joes with bufalo style sauce is not a good idea (not everything Rachel Ray cooks is yummy )

As for my chicken stuff....
4 cups of chicken broth, one fine chopped onion, 4 chicken breast... bring to boil then simmer 20 minutes...
Remove breasts, then mix in roast chicken gravy mix...
Add in 1 chopped jalapeno, 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, 3 minced garlic cloves, some cumin, 2 cans of diced green chili's, and a can of hominy... bring to boil
Shred chicken (this part is a PITA)
Add chicken back in...
Serve with Chopped tomato, sour cream, and tortilla chips

It kind of come out between a cross of chili verde and chicken tortilla soup...

Baby update. The doctors have decided that Tanya and baby are not responding so they are going in for an emergency c-section now. She has given birth to three other babies naturally, so now I'm worried about why she has to have one now, but I know that women and babies come through in flying colors, but being the mom I'm just worried.

I'm sure it will all be fine... sounds similar to my first... but he wasn't early... they induced me and after 11 hrs of labor nothing was happening... they brought me in for c-section... good thing too... b/c the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and under his arm...  for my second they decided to just go the same route and planned the c-section ahead of time...  I'm happy with how it all turned out...

PS... I wouldn't allow my mother to be here for my first b/c I knew it would stress me out... she was stressed out after calling and calling and calling and.... well, you've got the idea...

I'm sure she'll be fine... never-the-less my thoughts and prayers are with her and the baby

It's her fourth, but all the others were natural. This one got a head start from her getting a stomach virus and all that getting sick started the contractions. I guess your stomach muscles and abs are a bit too close for comfort and her sac got a tear in it, so she has been leaking water. Aaaaahhhhhh! All will be okay. I know it. I just keep telling myself that. All will be okay. And we will have grandbaby #4. His name will be Owen.

I feel super yucky, but I am enjoying life anyway. Dave spent the night (now don't go making any assumptions, he was in the living room next to the gas fireplace...and I wasn't) and I took him to the airport this morning. Despite the prediction of incredibly terrible road conditions(Lots of ice) we arrived early and chatted for an hour and a half.

I then ran a couple of errands, came home, and did a little cleaning.

Now I am going to take a much needed nap.

Sweet Dreams Mel - hope you had a great time with Dave!

I had a nice nap and my roommate is pampering me. He has brought me tea with lemon and honey and plans to make some chicken noodle soup. He also has been sanitizing doorknobs and such. Laughing

I had a nice visit with Dave. I saw him a few times over the week. It seems that the poor guy has to be back in Seattle on January 9th to resolve a lawsuit he filed against his past landlord.

I wonder if he will need a place to stay???

I've been on the Christmas roller coaster for the last two weeks. Two parties last weekend, three dinner parties this weekend, one this coming weekend and then one more on the 23rd where we go carroling in the neighborhood. So far nothing planned for New Years. I think we will need to have a break. LOL

Dave once again ran out of time to pack up his Mg baby so I've decided to do a photo shoot. Because I am not bike savvy and there aren't any logos on the frame I can't tell you much about it, but I will do my best.

I could balance it on the palms of my hands without any straining-if I was dumb enough to try, but as my mom said last week: I am very agile-except when I am extremely clumbsy.

The blanket I wrapped it in is heavier than the frame. The estimated wieght of the bike once it is all assembled is 13lbs.

I am fairly sure that it qualifies as a sexy frame.
