My month times look like some of your weekends. I guess that's what I get for joining a group of veterans Closing in on Spring... Woooo Hoooo! Don't worry about it in the least. You have more biking than I do. Plus, you are just beginning and had exams this month. You're doing great and will continue to improve. Keep up the good work. Here are my totals. January's totals: Bike: 4h 40m - 63 Mi Run: 3h 53m - 18.91 Mi Strength: 1h 15m Equestrian: 2h 15m This was mainly affected by my lack of time due to work. This month is better, and I'll be concentrating on endurance and adding some swims in there beginning tonight. Edited by btchance 2009-02-04 5:29 PM |

My month times look like some of your weekends. I guess that's what I get for joining a group of veterans Closing in on Spring... Woooo Hoooo! You're doing great. All of us are training for different events and require different training plans. Don't just look at volume. Hopefully you're not including me as a veteran. I've only done 3 tri's (2 Sprint & 1 Olympic). I started training around last May & picked up my first road bike some time in middle to late June. Good luck with your exams and your training goals. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I must be the last person on earth that does not own an ipod..... I do have a small radio that I will occasionally wear when I'm doing a bike workout in the gym. If I do it would be tuned to a country station, I'm more likely to plug it into the little box on the machine that gives me the audio on one of the TVs so I can catch up on the news. |

![]() | ![]() My mp3 player (no intention of spending the extra money on an ipod) Has too much music to really list all of it. But, off the top of my head: The Doors The Roots The Urge Prodigy 311 Steve Earle Dropkick Murphys Soundgarden Audioslave Bad Religion Beastie Boys Sublime Deftones System of a Down Black Sabbath Howling Wolf

![]() | ![]() So, I've always had tight calves...they consistently tighten up as I run. Well, tonight I was starting on lap 3 around the park where the running path is clear of snow. I was 1.76 miles into my run tonight before I couldn't stand running on them any more. Even just standing still it was like having both of my soleus muscles flexed. I ran at the same park last Saturday when it was a little cooler out and stopped after 4.X without any real soreness, but I'd also done an hour and fifteen minutes of yoga that morning. Am I going to have to do that every time I want to run? Anyone ideas on what I can do to cut down on this issue? |

I love it. DJ Steve Boyett. Other stuff includes: Deftones, Metallica, ZZ Top (favorite band), CCR, Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, Offspring, Cake. That's all I can remember at the moment. |

If you noticed a difference when doing yoga you might try and stretch really well after you warm up. I read somewhere that you should not stretch while your muscles are cold. Just because there is pain in your soleus does not mean that's where the pain originates.... Look up pain patterns and it may help you track down the source of the problem. |
