Veteran 1773 Dayton, OH | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (June 2009) Jolly June Sorry, I'm late again! Been on a working vacation... New York was great (especially the city, and the Broadway Show 'Shrek', and Times Square). Got into Mass. yesterday, and will be leaving Sunday morning. Despite all the food options and the non-stop eating, I'm still sub-180. Weighed in this morning at 177.8. Other news: I locked in my 2 A's and a B for a 3.666 GPA this last qtr. That also means I made the Dean's list again. Out of the last six qtrs, there was only one in which I didn't make the Dean's list (Winter qtr--got straight B's). Overall finished with a 3.6875 GPA, so I'm pretty happy about that. I'll receive my 2nd degree here in a couple of wks... Goodnight everyone! |

Good job all the way around Josh. Also it sounds like you are staying fairly healthy which is another plus. Yes and no. I feel like I'm eating everything in sight, sometimes having seconds or thirds, and I'm not really paying any attention to calorie content either. But, I'll bet my increase in eating is an indication of increased metabolism. The other thing is, I'm not drinking enough water (or what would seem normal based on previous habits) cause it tastes a little funny, and there is no filter here. So, I've been reduced to drinking alcohol and sodas which I know isn't good, but I don't feel like sacrificing the taste of water vs. just drinking it. What I hope is that as soon as I get back home (tomorrow evening), I'll be able to pick up where I left off (with the water consumption), because honestly I'm getting tired of drinking sugar! And, as funny as it sounds, my weight dropped again this morning --> 176.4 . Here in Mass, we have some of the most spectacular views. I'm staying at an uncle's house which is right at the base of Mt. Greylock (view from his back porch) the highest peak in Mass. (elevation: 3,495 ft.). Might go hiking later. Anyway, It has a WWII memorial lighthouse on top (which is visible) and a swath of land cut out on the side from a landslide that happen about 10 yrs. ago. The landslide has the shape of an Indian head. And there's nothing but forest for miles and miles around. The city I'm in is called North Adams, and it's tiny (back hills and country). Alright, enough from the peanut gallery, talk to ya later. |

Veteran 1773 Dayton, OH | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (June 2009) Jolly June saling4 - 2009-06-20 6:31 PM Thats a cool lighthouse Josh. Yes, extremely cool! Though I was wrong, it's not a memorial strictly for WWII vets, it's a veterans' war memorial for all those from Mass who have served. But made granite, with lodging at the summit and can be seen for miles around. Unfortunately, didn't get the chance to go hiking today, and we're leaving early tomorrow (like 7 am early). However, will be able to get a solid 10 hrs of reading in (Harry Potter 6, for the second time, before the film comes out July 14-15). Today basically sat on my butt watching tv, and drank a few cokes, even got a nap in. Then, ate about 10 chili dogs (tiny, about 1/3 the size of normal hot dogs), and topped it off with a couple of corona's (don't worry guys just testing to see if I'm immune from gaining weight, as it seems to be that way lately). P.S. Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there! |

I am so sad. I didn't make it on the list. I reported in on June 10, 2009, at 3:11 pm. I have the perpetual goal of 140 (until I actually reach it) and I was at 144.6 on June 10 and ended the month of May at 145.8. I have been kinda quiet, but not gone. Well, actually, I was gone on vacation and now I am back, but I am not gone from this thread. If I promise to post more often or do other types of penance, can I get back on the list or am I banished for life? |

Member 12 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (June 2009) Jolly June So I'm a newbie in this triathlon world so I have a question or two. I'm usually around my BMI level or just a "smidgen" above my BMI level. What is a good weight to actually be in for a race? In the middle of your ideal weight and lower body fat %? Single digits % body fat? I'm 6' tall, 187 lbs now and my real goal is it be 175 lbs. I've been at 173 lbs before but everyone said I looked too thin. Of course I was only dieting and not really working out. Anyone's input is greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Expert 711 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (June 2009) Jolly June I don't know the answer to any of those questions, but I cannot believe that it would be to have single-digit % body fat. Good god, I hope not at least! I'm currently sitting in the low-to-mid portion of my healthy BMI range and I'm about 25% body fat. I'm shooting to lose 10lbs or get to 20% body fat, whichever comes first. |

Member 20 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (June 2009) Jolly June Had a rough weekend, actually a real rough weekend. At no point between Friday 1 pm and Sunday morning was I legally aloud to drive. I ate unhealthy, drank too much. Vegetables, what are those? On Sunday I weighed myself, gained eight pounds since Wednesday. It was worth it. We sank my boat, how funny is that? Now back to business, see you at the weigh in. |
