Too hot today by the time I could exercise, so instead of jogging I tried out the pool.  First time in decades I have tried to actually swim laps.  My endurance is horrible but will improve.  I started out with just 25 yds at a time to try and get my stroke back.  I will definitely need to adjust my form!  However by the end I was feeling pretty good but tired!  My time was okay for a start.  I only managed one 100 yd. That was 2 min 33 sec.

I didn't set any challenge goals for swimming, but I will get my jog in tomorrow!

Thanks for all of the encouragement.  It is really helping me to stay motivated thru the first frustrating weeks.

darnitall.

here i was away all day and BILL stole my TopPage!  just kidding.....

i share amongst my Okra-ite teammies, and the one NON Okra-ite who hones in our thread all the time, cuz, well, he cant stand to be away from us FAB OKRA FOLK for very long

and well.....frankly, he has nothing better to do while he's at work than fiddle around on BT.  LOL.

love ya BILL.

you can have my TopPage anytime.

skrtrnr - 2009-09-11 7:31 AM MORNING OKRA-ites.

splendid morning.

rest day for me.

just in the nick of time.

long ride on tap tomorrow - 50 miles - w a lunch break in the middle - in prep for the Cook Forest 60 miler the end of the month.

heading out w a groovy bunch of people - three of whom are triathletes.

then w all the swim minutes i put in at the swim clinic, i think im off the hook swimming on Sunday.

just an easy 4 miler to do - im gonna head out early while the suns coming up.  ahhhhh.

and a more SOMBER NOTE.......

for all those who lost their lives or were injured, for the friends and families that lost loved ones on that horrific day on 9/11....MAY WE NEVER FORGET.

stacieb

Woo hoo, a rest day for Staci!

And then 50 miles tomorrow, a tough one, my initial though, ugh.. but then the realization, "a lunch break in the middle"... How perfectly proper!

Yea for lunch in the middle!!

Have a great day Staci!

i planned the group ride, so lunch....is required.  LOL!

perfectly proper indeed, JEN.

im throughly looking forward to this ride and the company that i'll be keeping.

its nice to (finally) have a fab circle of friends, though it seemed like it took FOREVER before they all 'showed up'...

making connections w other tri folk w similiar approaches to training has not been easy....but like other things in my life, persistence has its rewards.

and i get to enjoy a day of riding AND a lunch at FAB microbrewery to boot.  YAY!

heading back to bed.

sunup comes awfully early.

i remember the days not so long ago when i was swimming 25 yards at a time.....

now im up to swimming well over a mile, continuously.

you'll be amazed how much over time, you progress.

little by little.

stroke by stroke.

yard by yard.

persistence and consistency have their rewards.

your off to a TOTALLY FABULOUS START!

YAY YOU!

Had a easy bike planned- tummy and gut, not good. Bad coffee shop down the road...something I ate was very off, up all night. Big rain/thunder anyway. Maybe can do 'active napping' as my sport today?

Hope your belly feels  better.

I'm teaching Spinning class this morning and then I'm going on a bike ride with a friend.  Should be an interesting morning with trying to get baby to nurse between class and ride!

Oh no, hope you feel better soon!  I think active napping would count especially if you work on your "controlled breathing"

It must be interesting training around a baby's schedule along with your own & your hubby's.  Have fun on your bike ride!

Got my jog in this morning with my dog.  Felt good.

DH Larry left this morning for a road trip with his brother.  I will miss him but it does free up some time this week for training! LOL

I am picking up my bike after its tuneup this afternoon.  Maybe when it cools down I will go for a ride and see what it is like.

Have a great weekend everyone!
