Looks like a Felt B16.  But I can't tell what components.

Right on Ken...it's a Felt B16, 2009 model.  I was able to find the 09 model at a great reduced price.  Full carbon.  And it actually has slightly better components than the 2010 (and I preferred the 09 black paint scheme over the 10 white frame).  The shifters are Dura Ace, but everything else is mostly Shimano 105s.  The components are all good enough to use until they wear out.  I just weighed the bike and it is exactly 21lbs with everything on it but the pedals.

I did a lot of research on the Felt line and the B16 is their entry level carbon tri bike.  I liked that the frame design is the exact frame they use on their top of the line bike (the DA).  They just alter the quality of the carbon and use cheaper components.

Way to go BAMA!!!!!!!!!

I have never run in below freezing temps...gonna attempt an outside run today (it is currently 25 degrees).  Hope I have enough warm clothes as we're not used to these kinds of temps down here!

Tonight, a run, tomorrow teach bootcamp in the morning, a bike/run in the afternoon, possibly a swim.  Sunday morning group run with my 1/2 mary clinic, a bike in the afternoon and first swimming lesson in the evening. And somewhere in between all of that making some butternut squash soup and banana bread, maybe some Turkey Chili too.

30 minute run tonight.  Maybe a little bike too.
700 yard swim and lower body strength workout Saturday.
On plane to Calgary on business Sunday till next Thursday.

Very worried about sustaining my progress while travelling.  Historically I've always blown it. Especially at the dinner table or buffet line.  I'm a spectacular buffet over acheiver.

Gotta check on the hotel for fitness facilities and make some decisions on food before I leave.

By the looks of the weather in Calgary this week, you might just be shivering the calories off.  Today's high there is -12C(11F) the low is -22(-7F)  Brrrrrrr...

Heading home in a few minutes.  Hoping to get a run in when I get home.  All depends on the kids.  I think I have a run planned tomorrow and can't remember Sunday.  Too cold for anything outside!

I completed my run for today and feel good, and it is now the record for my coldest run!  34 degrees.  Probably warm for you northern folk, but it was downright chilly for me.  I do have a question...when I was running I was all bundled up with the exception of the lower half of my face.  When I was running away from the sun, and directly into 10mph winds, my upper lip and nose would go numb...but when I faced the sun it would "thaw" out again.  Just wondering if this is normal for these kinds of temps or just b/c I am not used to it.  It felt really weird as I would go to spit and couldn't form my upper lip!

That's definitely a question for the northern folks.  Dallas is not that far north of Austin.

Had to get out my conversion chart to figure out how cold that really is, it equates to 1.11 C for us Canucks, which is chilly but not reeeally cold, for really cold you need to look a little farther north than where I am in the Vancouver area.  The wind chill probably brought the temperature down further for you.  In cold weather like that, I find that it will make your face feel numb, so what you are experiencing is somewhat normal, considering you don't get those temperatures too often.  Since I do bootcamps outdoors, all year round, I do experience cold days like that and though initially the face will feel numb or even pain, after doing some good cardio that feeling will subside over time.

Thanks I just thought I was a wimp for the cold...well, I guess I still am!  Although this morning it was 19 when we went to the gym, but there was no wind and the sun was out so it didn't feel bad at all.  Did my first ever spin class this morning.  It was fun, but tough.  Going to attempt to make it once a week.  Good workout and it feels nice being done for the day!

You are far from a wimp!!  I refuse to run or bike outside in the cold!  So glad I have a treadmill in my basement!

Thanks, but I am still no fan of the cold.  I do complain about 105 degree summers in Texas but I would take that over the cold, when it comes to working out.  I can do the runs (the more I do, the easier it seems to get) but I just don't have the gear to bike in the cold.  I've got the cold weather tights but nothing to stop the wind from getting through and nothing to protect my face/head.

Hey John,

Welcome back!  Didn't know if we would see you again.  Sounds like you had a great time away from it all and hope you enjoyed it.  I've never been skiing or snowboarding so can't comment on it, other than it sounds like a good workout.  Way to get some runs in as well.  I am terrible about working out when on vacation.

Glad to see you back!  Skiing and snowboarding are great workouts, snowboarding is especially tough on the legs, pretty much squating the whole time if you manage to stay up.  Sounds like you had a nice holiday:-)

Anyone wear orthotics?  I have incredibly flat feet.  Sometime last year I went to my local running shop for new sneaks.  The guys told me I had the worst feet he has ever seen.  He then apologized because he thought he offended me.  When I assured him he did not, he called the other guy working over to look at my feet.  I have no arch at all.  When my feet are wet and walking on concrete, you see the whole foot, no cutout for the arch.  I wore orthotics up until sometime in my teens.  I hated them.  They were so thick I could not tie the laces on my sneaks.  I have had a really hard time increasing my mileage lately.  I also think I am dealing with plantar fasciitis in my left foot.  I have the strassburg sock and it has helped me so much.  I can actually walk normal right from getting out of bed.  I used to hobble for a good hour and have a hard time putting weight on my foot.  Not good when I have to carry a baby down the stairs every morning!!  I just started talking to this guy my husband has recently met.  They both played rugby for the same college but 10 years apart.  He is a chiropractor and treats sports injuries.  He is also a runner so I feel comfortable going to this guy.  He is a chiropod so he can do orthotics.  I am just afraid he is going to tell me he can't do much to help me out.  My two longterm goals are a marathon and a half ironman.  The marathon is on a much shorter time period than the half ironman!  You guys have any tips of running with flat feet and orthotics?

I've never worn them, but I have a friend who had them done last summer (also for flat feet).  He absolutely loves them and it has eased his foot pain.  Not sure exactly what he had, but he used to have to go and get steroid injections in his feet a few times a year.  The orthotics have helped and I don't believe he has had the shots since.  His goals for this year are a HIM and half marathon, so it is definitely doable.  Sorry to hear about the plantar...I know it can be very painful.

My husband got orthotics a little over a year ago, he has horrible feet, if it weren't for the ground under him his feet would probably arc the wrong way:P  It took a while to get used to them, but since he started wearing them, he has run a marathon and is training for another currently as well as a HIM this year and an IM in 2011.  He wears them in both his running shoes and his everyday work shoes and has no problems with tying his laces in either.  With the orthotics he wears a neutral running shoe.

Thanks!  I think my feet would be the same way if it weren't for the ground!  I have to wear stability running sneaks but figure I might end up in neutral with orthotics.  I have no idea if insurance will cover these.  Sigh...could be expensive!!
