I have to give a big shout out to my son today.

My baby boy is 10 today!

If I was at home I'd post a picture, maybe later this evening I can do that.

No Hot Pockets for dinner either.

He saw a commercial that they have Star Wars toys in Happy Meals at McDonalds. Guess where we're going.

That's ok. Whatever he wants today. My daughter and I made a cake last night. She decorated it then with my husband. He can icing a cake better than I can.

Cake tonight at my house if you want any.

skrtrnr - 2010-03-03 8:12 PM starting to get squirrely for the indoor tri at our Y on the 21st.

FUNNY WHAT A LITTLE LIFTING OFF OF ALL EXPECTATIONS WILL DO TO A PERSON.

i made a commitment to myself at the start of this thing.....if/when training turned into a HAVE TO RATHER THAN A WANT TO i would find another pursuit.

remember.  i do this for FUN.

seems that laying off the expectations/laying the plan aside/doing what i feel like doing when i feel like doing it for as long as i feel like doing it is helping TONS.

i even got me a bonafide CHRISSY WELLINGTON VERSION, TYR SPLICE TRI SUIT just for the occasion

need someone to cover my shift that day i usually work Sundays.

ive been covering everyone elses so it shouldnt be hard.

hopefully someone will step up soon......dont want to miss out on all the TRI'IN FUN!

stacieb

I've got some free time Sunday. I can cover your shift.

I need a new job. This is no longer a want, it is now a need.

My job is not stressful. The conditions I work in and the people I work for are.

I have to find something else.

That's all I have to say about that.

Happy birthday to your son!  Hope he has a great day.

Glad he decided on something other than hot pockets.  Although I might go for the hot pockets over McDonalds.

Glad you're feeling better.  As for the ride it's been so long since I've ridden in the cold that I know I'll get the layering wrong.

I'd probably go with tights for sure, a long sleeve base layer, a wind breaking outer layer, gloves, and a hat under the helmet.  Oh and shoe covers if you have them or a nice thick pair of socks.  I don't know about you but my feet are always the first things to get cold.

Thanks Neal. My feet get cold fast, too. I thought about stopping on my way home tomorrow to pick up a pair of shoe covers. I might do that. I don't have full fingered gloves either, I'm debating whether to get a pair or not. It is only the beginning of March, we still have lots of time for cold weather.

Morning Ghoul's.  Got 2200 in the pool this morning.  It is going to be a beautiful day here today and I'm thinking about sneaking out early to run hill repeats tonight.  Will see how things play out at work.

I got a nice bike interval session done last night.  Wore my Ghoulie shirt just to try it out.  Will save it now for when I need race mojo.

Morning All!  I ran outside last night...just 3 miles...I let the sun fool me into thinking it was warmer than it was...luckily I dressed as if it was cold, but the wind coming off the ice bergs on the lake really stung!

Hi Katie.

3 miles is better than sitting on the couch eating a bag of chips!

Hi Katie!!! Good for you for getting out there even with that lake effect wind.

I am at the point where no matter what the thermometer says I am running outside. No more treadmill period until next winter.  The cabin fever is at a boil.  Wish I could say the same about the bike though.  I guess if I went and bought the right stuff I'd be more inclined.

I'm making a quick stop after work tomorrow. Can you be in Camp Hill by 3:00?

I want to ride outside this weekend, but I DO NOT want to be cold the entire time. My feet and hands are my main concern.

Didn't he say something yesterday about going to Rochester or Syracuse or some other cold upstate NY city?  Knowing Bill, probably by bike.  Or, it could be a figment of my imagination and he has the day off and is out skiing somewhere.

Glad you are feeling better!!

At those degrees out here, I wear a sleeveless or short sleeve tech shirt and a long sleeve, lightweight bike jacket and ankle length tech tights....assuming not too much wind.  If  a little wind, I might wear a long sleeve instead of short sleeve.... Oh and I always wear gloves.

ceilidh - 2010-03-03 7:24 PM hey my wonderful Ghoulies! I miss being in the Village. I tried to catch up but there is no way. I'll be home Friday evening and catch up on Sat. Tom, I am sorry about the loss of that fine young girls life. The horror makes my stomach turn. Thank you so much for caring and giving good advise. I have mace but currently can't find it. A lot of good that would do, eh. I will find it ASAP when I get home, My family thanks you in advance.

Ann, I have my shirt, I haven't' seen it. My DH tells me it is very cool. Of course I know it is. This weekends run will be in it. Photo, even of me who hates photos.

I am still in Raleigh, another day of training to go. (FWIW, I don't sleep during the training  and I could teach this one but I try to not be annoying to the person who has to teach it either- my attention span is somewhat lacking). Workouts have been sporadic as I have actually, for a change, been enjoying spending time with coworkers and the ability to workout here has been challenging.

Catch up on Friday!

Robin, I'm glad you are having some fun with the coworkers!
