Asalzwed - 2012-10-23 1:01 PM Speaking of serious. My bike shoes smell so unbearably bad. I don't know what happened between yesterday and today but holy crap. They are under my desk and I can hardly stand it.

Ewwwww.

On a happier note, a new Bux opened up in Santa Fe! Yay. I was driving earlier for work and noticed a big green sign where there used to be a gas station! So of course I HAD to check it out. They designed it as a walk-up/drive-up. It has a very nice patio with overhead heaters.

Oooh nice, I like the walk-up windows. Do you happen to know the cross streets? I was going to look it up. I sure hope you have a gold card by the way!

It is at Cerrillos and St. Francis, on St. Francis. And, no, i'm not Yell. Been meaning to, the inconvenience of keeping it loaded mostly. Thought about doing the app.

Baggie 'em up with a bunch of silica gel and Arm 'N' Hammer dryer sheets overnight. Then reassess.

Ooooh thank you. I will try this tonight.

If you don't have silica gel, stuff 'em with any kind of dryer sheets, and carefully place them on top of a layer of baking soda, soles up, in a big plastic bag. Preferably sealable, but just tucking the end in on itself should work.

Well, there is a silica gel packet in the bottom of my vitamins. Can I just use that?

Sure. Can't scrounge up another? One for each shoe would be great.

OMG I WAS JUST TOTALLY THINKING ABOUT BEEF JERKY!!!

My sister is to beef jerky as I am to Pop Tarts. I bought her two packs in Jakarta at $15 a pop (little, little bags). She ate them both in one go on the snorkeling boat and I just about puked since they smell like dog food (the canned kind) first thing in the morning.

Anyhow, yes, that's another good source of silica gel

That's the one. I wondered what they did with the space in back. You know I still haven't tried the Clover?! There aren't any stores with it here and only a couple in Denver! One is at the flagship REI so the next time we're in Denver I am SO THERE!

My DH loves beef jerky, especially on road trips. That smell fills the car! Ugh.

Ahh just another thing I enjoy about your sister

Eeks, yeah beef jerky is expensive here even. Who cares if it smells like dog food. I used to eat that, too.

So, I am really on the fence about doing a Halloween 5K this weekend. I'm feeling a little raced out and just want some time at home with no agenda. BUT I have a very strong desire to race in costume. For another party J and I have Batman and Robin costume (Yup, I'm Robin. So badazz) So, I at least have the costume part.

The other cons on the list are that it might rain pour and my costume is a youth size and umm very snug.

Running as Robin would be pretty epic, but getting your costume soaked, not so much. Did you pay for it already?

Yeah ... and it could be washed post run, it wouldn't get ruined or anything. The little black mask might get all messed up in the rain but I COULD but a new one if that's the case. Hmmmm.

I had these AWESOME neon-orange tri shorts, Ironman brand, that not only showed EVERYTHING when dry, but had these cool flower patterns that would show up when wet.

HYPERCOLOR! Are those things still around? I had a HC t-shirt that I worshipped in high school because my beloved friend Jonathan gave it to me after a really rough time in his life that I helped him through and somehow Hypercolor shirts became our mascot.

I wore that shirt to death. Mostly at amusement parks--lots of sweat and water = cool!

I had SO MUCH tri-crap when I left the States, I just couldn't take it all. I distributed all the stuff amongst the then-Manatees, Pay it Forward, and Cheryl Gruenfeld's charity, forgot its name.

Also, those tri shorts were $10. TEN DOLLARS.

Had, HAD? Why the past tense????????

I think they should introduce a hypercolor line of athletic apparel.

I can confirm the above statement. But, I don't see any flowers ...

Why is that a con?

It's uncomfortable and I have camel toe while dry, I can't imagine ... Oh jesus don't make me say it.

I had these AWESOME neon-orange tri shorts, Ironman brand, that not only showed EVERYTHING when dry, but had these cool flower patterns that would show up when wet.

Had, HAD? Why the past tense????????

Well, not wholly.

So I guess this means my Robin costume is a-okay.

This was ever in doubt?

Actually, the tri shorts were completely dry at the time. Anything that looks like a wet spot (like a certain circular thing in a certain place) is actually the front of the tri-pad.

Man, I miss those shorts. They were sure some attention-getters. They really made a statement.
