Subject: RE: COgirl's Group - FULLzschaller - 2007-02-19 6:52 PM Hey Ladies! Cathy, welcome back! Heather, good to see you running! Here is my question: my left knee has been bothering me persistently lately. It hurts to rung and it definitely hurt to go up and down the stairs. I need new running shoes (I put a lot of miles on my current pair...) I will see if it makes any difference with a new pair but so far the pain makes me worried. Anyone with knee problems out there? Z. Ha! I am the queen of knee problems! New shoes often make a difference, but the other thing that is good to do is squats! Lunges too. But be careful with these.....not too deep and no knees coming out too far on the squats (do squats like you are going to sit your butt in a chair). Sometimes when you run, you overdevelop outside of the thigh (lateral quads) and underdevelop the inside (medial quads)....then your patella tracks weird. It can also be ITB (ilio-tibial band) issues. Lots of stretching AFTER you run is also good. Where does your knee hurt Zoya? Where does your hip hurt Heather? Edited by COgirl 2007-02-20 10:25 AM
