Hey Susan, sorry we didn't get to run into eachother yesterday I was trying to keep an eye out for your outfit. Hope you had a good race (I'll go read your report in a bit), I had a good time and did pretty well. And got 3.1 miles in for my total

Glad to hear you both had a good day yesterday. I'll have to go check out your race reports.

Yesterday wasn't a run day for me, but I did get in 30 minutes of low-impact aerobics. Today is a run day for me, so I'll be heading out later for that. I had planned to do it this morning, but the winds are blowing pretty strong here this morning and my allergies have been raging.

On the question of Gina's age, she's 27 years old. Here's a link to the profiles of the athletes competing this year:

Hi yo all again, sorry I've been gone. hassle and half last couple of days. My wife started to work today, our kids have been sick, I'm trying to get work permit to our housemaid - and then also to do all the sports. Well, that's the nice part, of course.

I'm still on target, first week and 15,5 km out of 61. I missed my run yesterday due all arrangements and stuff... ok, sounds just explaining.

How are we doing as team so far?

p.s. TriAya darling, lose the spider from your face...

Oh don't worry antti, you'll be sorry you asked me to lose the spider from my face when you guys see my next avatar (due Oct. 15). Sorry about all the hassles--and congrats on getting your runs in anyway!

Gotta keep ahead of THEM apples ... hey, did you guys hear the news about Chicago Marathon getting cut off? That's crazy! I have a (fairly slow) friend running it and then a bunch of acquaintances/colleagues from AIDS Marathon ... I really hope they made it past the cutoff, but word in Chicago Tribune has it that less than 15% of the starting field finished. YIKES!

Huge congratulations ladies!

I just read about the Chicago Marathon. 250 to the hospital and 1 runner dead. Yikes! While I can imagine being totally po'd if I had been pulled I can certainly understand.

Stinky wet rabid dog mr2tony from the TAN wolves made Chicago in 4:12. Said the weather was ridiculous. Much as those folks bark around here, it'd be sad to see 'em suffer, y'know?

Did you guys see the double/triple results posted?  Man that is stinking AMAZING.  I wish I knew the name of the physically challenged man in the triple (he had a prosthetic leg from above one knee down)  He would be the first phusically challenged athlete to complete the triple

Hey, gang -- we are one week in and it's time to cheer for yourself!  What are you proud of this week?

I am amazed I ran 5 days in a ROW, and today I did a longish run while traveling for business and in 29-degree weather (in my shorts!).  There is frost on the ground here in the mornings!  Yay me!

There are so many incredible athletes who continue to inspire me--including YOU!!! (Yes, you! Who? YOU!)

The Hoyt team is amazing. So is Scott Rigsby, whose progress at CDA I followed well into the night. I watched the replay of that today on Versus and cried. There is something unspeakably beautiful and remarkable about triathletes that we all understand but can't quite put into words.

Congratulations, Gail, and to our entire team for running our hearts out (and butts off ... at least I'm hoping, for me!) this week. Way to go!!!

Tough girl you are! I wouldn't go running in my shorts in 29 CELSIUS degrees And I'm from Finland... well, human beings climatize quickly fast (three days, actually, it takes)

Ha, ha ... coming from a man who lives in Bahrain .... antti doesn't bother running unless he actually sees flames coming up from the road. He figures that's a proper warmup!

antti asu,

You need to record in the log for the distance to count. The thread is nice for chatting and the "running total" to date but Chrissy and CAT look at the logs for the spread sheets

Hey tream, this is LOOKING GOOD.  Most of us are on target for the goals we've set.  I'm proud of you for hanging in despite injuries and insanity of life

Hey all - I'm finishing up compiling everyone's data - we're looking good! I am still giving Cleavitt the benefit of the doubt, as s/he only pledged 8 miles for the entire month. Does anyone know if s/he is still planning to participate? (I left a message for Cat too). And Gail, are you planning to add your tally as well, or are you just going to be our cheerleader? That's cool if you're just here for moral support

Judy, did you change your goal? The spreadsheet only has you down for 30 miles. I counted 13.7 miles from your logs. Just let me know, so I can credit you for the right amount!

I wanted to up my goal but am not sure since I have some on call time next week which could potentially interfere with my achievement of the new goal.  BUT I added 1.3 miles on the elliptical this morning followed by 5.34 doing intervals on the treadmill SO I will up my goal to 40 (yes 40 miles) for the month Because today puts me to 2/3 of my original goal and I have the 10 K this weekend so I need to challenge myself to higher levels.

Judy is official the farthest ahead, even with her upped ante But it's not important how far we all go, just that we commit to a number and achieve that goal!

Eh, Judi is the queen of kick-azz ... remember the Tour de France challenge? Not only did she NOT sandbag, not only was she the first of our Barloworlders across the finish line, she was the first in the whole Tour challenge across the finish line ... crazy lady.
