Get a job doing in-house application development.  Deadlines aren't really a big deal.

I'm not working today.  I mean, I'm sitting at my desk looking busy but believe me, my bosses do NOT want me talking to people today.  The claws are out.

That's totally hillarious. I'm a Director of IT and that's why I'm busy.....trying to explain missed deadlines and budget overruns.

I just need to start my own IT Consulting business, then I can charge outrageous rates and just create problems instead of solving them. Then I could work 2 days a week , make more money and have 3 days for BT'ing. From what I've seen I just have to deliver 1/2 the customer service required and I'd still be head and shoulders above the competition.

None of my projects I am working on right now have a deadline.  The one is an application for this dept., the other is research into questions that should be asked off a prospective software package (long story on that one....); another is purchasing a new application, but I don't sign checks, so hey, I got nothin' on that one.

I work in a very un-technological company.  We're a building supply and material co-op.

Translation:  Are you looking for job change so Elektra can get paid?

Now the staff want something called "vacation?". Has anyone heard of this and what do you do about it. I've called HR and they can't help me.

(thank goodness I've got a good bunch of staff that know's how to laugh or I'd be in big trouble!)
