Here are a few rules......I will think of a few more as we go to help my team.....smile.

1.  Team captains must post totals a minimum of once a week.  Since we start on a Monday, we will make Sunday the posting deadline....that way we know where the teams are at the beginning of each week.  You can post daily totals but I think many people don't post daily workouts.  You can collect your data any way you want.  PM, email, logs, posts, whatever.

2.  Honor system applies.....and Gary if your team wins I will know you cheated.

3.  The judge and jury is ME....on any dispute....my justice is swift and intentionally unfair.  So the answer is ---- no disputes.

4.  Scoring system is below.  I will accept recommendations (but probably won't change anything).....so really if we need to change something we will.  Keep your raw data so if we need to recalculate, we can.  Any other ideas will be considered for points.  We just want it simple.  I like the HIM point idea so:

1920 meters (that's 1.2 miles, right FBP?) of swimming = 7 points

56 miles of biking = 7 points

13 miles of running = 7 points

Totals post cumulatively by team so if I swim 10 meters and John swims 1910, that's 7 points for the winners....

Other exercise, cross training, core, ice skating, crock pot cooking, etc - 1 hour = 2 points.  Hey, we are triathletes ( and I will judge your alternative exercise as appropriate exercise or not ).

Throughout the month there will also be bonus weeks or weekends, with extra points offered for whatever I deem appropriate (are you getting a feeling of dictatorship?)  What I mean is one week may have bonus points if a team swims 20 miles, you will know at the beginning of the week if there is a bonus.

Remember - THIS IS FOR FUN (as long as my team wins).

I like those team names, Bryan! hehhehhehe

Hey, Bryan, btw... i spoke to the PT who did my Body Age Test today again about the MAP test and he said that the test itself is $99, but the mask is additional $40. Does THAT sound about right to you?

Yes Lena those prices are right.  Once you own the mask you can get the test for 99 as you can re use the mask.  Also, the Infinit folks are great to talk with.  You can schedule a phone consul with them via the link on the left side of the home page.

Gary - YOU ARE GOING DOWN, DITCH BUG BREATH......

John - new name.....THE CHAMPIONS

Gary, I was kidding about the name Bow Chicka Wow Wows.
I will have to find a hat.

Does anyone else find it isnt as much fun swimming when you are trying to swim "correctly", to much thinking and not as much swimming.

Suddenly Dan's 90 miles doesn't seem that impossible!

Billy - LOL, NP but you had better come up with a better one!

Gary's team - I can setup a google spreadsheet for everyone to enter their distances OR you can just update your BT log.  The spreadsheet is a little easier for me but if it makes it harder for you then I don't want to do it.  PLEASE let me know.

Taking today off to get past the cold and rest up for the challenge.  With Mav covering the swim I think I will be pushing the bike/Run some.  WIth my knee can't do too much of the run but the bike I can jam.

John's team,

Just make sure you log your workout on BT and I will add up our miles.  Carbo loading today to get ready for the next 15 days.

Let me know if you have any good team names.  Lena has already come up with some good ones.

Just a few hours until it all begins.

Decided not to swim today so that I'm more than rested for tomorrow. Maybe this challenge is a bad influence...

Bryan,

Just to clarify something.  We are going the whole month of Feb for this competition?  We originally talked about 2 weeks but I like the idea of going the whole month.

Jan totals:
Bike:13h 01m 39s  - 243.79 Mi
Run:6h 44m 32s  - 41.98 Mi
Swim:8h 23m 37s  - 19565.44 M

Would like to up the miles for running and biking for Feb.  Swimming I think thats about it.  Let's take a vote on the whole month thing. Doesn't matter to me but would like to make sure everyone is up for that.

Off to to project management training tomorrow.  Don't think the class is going to provide much but I need the PMP PDU 's(continuing ed points) and this is worth 8.  Moves my swim to Tuesday but all is good.  This week is run oriented so hoping for temps in the 50's during the evening and if someone could reset the moon cycle I would love a few full moon runs this week.

I need to get my pic up but today has been hectic.  Sunday's are just too busy, need to simplify my weekends a little.

Bike:12h 30m  - 171 Mi
Run:6h 24m 03s  - 31.9 Mi
Swim:4h 37m  - 12800 Yd
Strength:2h 33m
Elliptical Training:3h 19m
Group Exercise Class:1h 00m
StairMill:14m

I vote for the whole month!  I also don't care about the team name, if it's still up for discussion.

I ended up doing 30 minutes tonight on the bike so that I wouldn't feel like a slacker   I'm thinking February is the month to increase my swim mileage.  It seems like the place to get the most "bang for your buck".

Good Luck to everyone - especially if you're on my team...

Run:8h 19m 34s  - 48.52 Mi
Swim:7h 20m 04s  - 13700 M

My brother and I worked with a swim coach today!  It was great!  I know what I need to focus on now!

Started the month off right by getting up a half hour early so that I could do 30 minutes on the bike trainer before work. Here's my workout plan:

Monday - cycle (a.m.), swim (noon); Tuesday - swim (noon); Wednesday - cycle (a.m.), run (noon); Thursday - swim (noon); Friday - off; Saturday - cycle; Sunday - run

Bitter cold here at the moment.

Lena - I scanned the Russian card/letter and have sent it to you at your Yahoo email address

Got in about 60 minutes this morning.  I was only going to run for 30 minutes, but I went ahead and went 34 to get in 3 miles.

I really have gotten quicker over the last year - I used to average about 13:00, and now I'm usually around 12:00.  I guess I just need to be patient and keep plugging away...

Hope everyone has a great workout today!

Amy, I thought we had a special relationship going on because of our IMLOU in common, but I can see that that bond is not very deep.  Its seems you are more commited to the "other" team than our friendship.  So be it, game on, and all the other phrases that go along.  Team whatever we are, to the top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
