Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() No points for today and rest day tomorrow. Went for a run but only got to 4km and was spent. Feeling like I have something coming on and hope its not the flue. Was light headed and struggle to see when I was running so hopefully it's nothing major. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This morning: 50' on the drainer (2x15' intervals at 90-95% FTP) followed by brick run nice and easy for 30'. Real happy with my HRs this morning. - Gabe S 4 / B 5/ R5; Total = 14; 21:04:35 |

Member![]() ![]() | ![]() Well my long ride this morning was stopped short 10 miles in by a massive split in the side of my Continental Gatorskin rear tyre. They are supposed to be almost indestructible but I managed it after around 250 miles Fortunately I have managed to have it replaced with no charge from the place I bought it from although their service was incredibly poor!!! Taking some positives out of it, I changed the tube and cycled home and because I'd only done 20 miles, decided to go for a run. Back out on the bike tomorrow, I am going to have a go at the ride I should have been doing today. - Gabe S 4 / B 5/ R5; Total = 14; 21:04:35- Mitch: S 2 / B 5 / R 7; Total = 14; 9:44:45" - Joe P S 4 / B 5/ R 4 Total = 13; 15:20:05" - Jim S 0 / B 7 / R 6; Total =13; 9:47:03 - Kev: S2/B4/R5; Total = 11; 11:36:19 - Jackie S 5/B 2/R 3; Total 10; 10:24:19 - Rachel S 3 / B 3 / R 4; Total 10; 09:05:10" - Matthews: S 3 / B 3 / R 4; Total = 10; 08:16:00" - Charlotte S 0/ B 1/ R 2; Total =10; 5:50:00 - Chris S 0 / B 1 / R 8; Total 9; 12:18:05 - MarkZ: S 2 / B 4 / R 3; Total = 9; 10:35:00" - Samy S 3 / B 3/ R 3; Total = 9; 6:59:43 - Jennie S 2 / B 1/ R 4; Total 7; 5:54:36 - Scott S 0 / B 1 / R 3; Total 4, 3:45:46 - Ernesto S 0 / B 0 / R 4; Total 4; 2:22:34" - Joe S 0/B 0/ R 2; Total 2; 01:25:00 - Mark H S 0 / B 1 / R 1 ; Total 1; 1:20:0 |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This is the first time all week I was actually able to take a minute and get on the site. I'm not on top of my training. I have had a hard time waking up early enough. Anyone have any suggestions for getting back into the swing of things or just motivating to wake up early? The only time during the week that I can really train is early morning. - Gabe S 4 / B 6/ R5; Total = 15; 23:04:35 - Mitch: S 2 / B 5 / R 7; Total = 14; 9:44:45" - Joe P S 4 / B 5/ R 4 Total = 13; 15:20:05" - Jim S 0 / B 7 / R 6; Total =13; 9:47:03 - Kev: S2/B4/R5; Total = 11; 11:36:19 - Jackie S 5/B 2/R 3; Total 10; 10:24:19 - Rachel S 3 / B 3 / R 4; Total 10; 09:05:10" - Matthews: S 3 / B 3 / R 4; Total = 10; 08:16:00" - Charlotte S 0/ B 1/ R 2; Total =10; 5:50:00 - Chris S 0 / B 1 / R 8; Total 9; 12:18:05 - MarkZ: S 2 / B 4 / R 3; Total = 9; 10:35:00" - Samy S 3 / B 3/ R 3; Total = 9; 6:59:43 - Jennie S 2 / B 1/ R 4; Total 7; 5:54:36 - Scott S 0 / B 1 / R 3; Total 4, 3:45:46 - Ernesto S 0 / B 0 / R 4; Total 4; 2:22:34" - Joe S 0/B 0/ R 3; Total 2; 02:15:46 - Mark H S 0 / B 1 / R 1 ; Total 1; 1:20:0 |

Member![]() ![]() | ![]() - Gabe S 4 / B 6/ R5; Total = 15; 23:04:35 Was late for the Tri Club swim session but still managed 45 minutes. An extremely tough session today with hard paced intervals. Have enjoyed training today. The weather has been great and for the first time in a while I've felt like doing a brick session. Thanks for letting me join in here, I'm finding its helping with the extra motivation to go out and do another workout!!! Cheers Kev |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Scott and I made another attempt to ride outside and it was a success!!! This was the first time since August that we were able to be outside and only the second time that we were able to do one of the loops. The winds were pretty tough though. 18mph crosswinds with gusts over 26mph heading downhill. I didn't even attempt to go over 30mph. My arms were getting a workout keeping the bike on the road! I averaged 12.2mph. I know that doesn't sound like much but remember I've only been outside a handful of times and last august I was at 11.1 on this route. I'm sure I'll speed up soon enough! It was just really nice to be outside!!!!! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Scott will post the link if anyone wants to see the route. I can because I didn't start my watch until 4 minutes into the ride. |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Two workouts for me today. First was a swim workout this morning. It was only 1300y in 31:00, but it was good to be back in the pool again. The second was a short bike ride but it was good to finally ride outside again. The ride was 8.52 miles in 38:08. I'm looking forward to more outdoors bike rides now that spring is at least trying to arrive. And I'm happy I actually got two points for the March Challenge. Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Here's the short loop around our house that we'll be doing for a little bit while we get used to riding outside again: |
![]() ![]() |
Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() The other good news from the ride was my max HR was 154. Last time I rode that loop my HR monitor freaked out and said my max HR was 254 going downhill. I think having a jacket on today protected it from the wind going downhill. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Feeling a lot better after a goodnight sleep. I'm thinking it may be a head cold as I have slight headache all the time as well. Ret day today so I'll see how it goes tomorrow. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Today: 11 mile run. Target was HM Pace + 30 sec (8:30 / mile). Actual ended up at 8:21 / mile. Felt happy about it from a HR perspective - 75% in zone 2 or less (avg HR of 160). Any zone 3 was on hills. Last Oct HM race was at 8:32 pace with avg hr of 177. Again - its consistency of fitness that drives your gains. Really want to break 8:00 / mile on my next HM. - Gabe S 4 / B 6/ R5; Total = 15; 23:04:35 - Mitch: S 2 / B 5 / R 8; Total = 15; 11:16:36" - Jackie S 6/B 3/R 4; Total 13; 12:24:09 - Jim S 0 / B 7 / R 6; Total = 13; 9:47:03 - Kev: S 3/B 4/R 5; Total = 12; 12:21:19 - Charlotte S 0/ B 1/ R 2; Total =12; 6:55:00 - MarkZ: S 2 / B 5 / R 4; Total = 11; 13:41:00" - Chris S 0 / B 1 / R 9; Total = 10; 13:32:22 - Rachel S 3 / B 3 / R 4; Total = 10; 09:05:10" - Matthews: S 3 / B 3 / R 4; Total = 10; 08:16:00" - Jennie S 3 / B 2/ R 4; Total = 9; 7:03:08 - Samy S 3 / B 3/ R 3; Total = 9; 6:59:43 - Scott S 1 / B 2 / R 3; Total = 6, 4:54:54 - Ernesto S 0 / B 0 / R 4; Total = 4; 2:22:34" - Joe S 0/B 0/ R 3; Total = 2; 02:15:46 - Mark H S 0 / B 1 / R 1 ; Total = 1; 1:20:0

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Get well soon Matthews. Nothing like fighting off some illness during a challenge. I started off today with a swim at the pool. 200y warmup followed by 950y non-stop using paddles. Total was 1150y in 30 minutes. The process of getting back in pool shape continues. Jennie and I will do a long run later. - Gabe S 4 / B 6/ R5; Total = 15; 23:04:35 Edited by scottputnam 2012-03-11 11:03 AM |

Member![]() ![]() | ![]() Today's training has gone really well. I completed the 65 mile ride to Richmond that I didn't finish yesterday due to the flat tyre and once again managed a short brick run at the end. The weather was fantastic. Nice and warm and with a slight breeze. Couldn't have asked for better conditions.
