Had my PT evaluation this morning.  IT band is healing nicely and should heal up all by itself.  Shoulder is lax and has a tendency to repeatedly sublux (pop in and out of the joint).  PT feel that I'm going to need shoulder surgery at some point in the future but can work on strengthening everything around the shoulder for now and get a few more years out of it.

So . . . I get to ride my bike and go for a VERY short run tomorrow.

Goal is Florida.

And I love this Mark Cavendish quote (I'll be up at 4:30 a.m. to watch the entire men's road roace tomorrow morning):

"It's nerve-wracking. I've been nervous this week, but we're trained to be able to deal with those nerves and you've got be able to put it to bed. As unromantic as it sounds, we've got a process that we've got to adhere to. It's a process that we know if we commit to 100 percent and execute we've got the best chance of winning. That's what we've got to do."

I'm obviously not getting work done today.  This story is fantastic:  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/25/brothers-inspire_n_1703034.html

9 year old towing and pushing his 6 year little brother with cerebal palsy so that he can compete in triathlons.

Thanks for following me yesterday. It was not the day I had hoped for, but its done and I finished. I probably went in with too high of ecpectations, and didnt have it in me yesterday to execute.

My friend caught up with me somewhere around mile 19/20 I think. I was not doing good, blisters on both balls of my feet, and stomach very upset. She stayed with me the rest of the way and we crossed the finish together. I tried to convince her to go on ahead and her reply was she didn't have anywhere she needed to be. (Ah, how about a finish line!) Truly a great friend to stick it out with me.

I'm going to do a race report, there's so much to say about yesterday. Stay tuned...

This week has been rough.  My immune system is a disaster, and my body feels as if it has been beaten.  Training has been spotty at best, but I'm happy I put in the time that I did even if I did come up short on time and effort.

I went for my first ride in my new neighborhood this morning, and it was interesting.  Nice, flat terrain but lots of wind.  A driver tried to run me off of a 4 lane road.  I honestly thought he was going to hit me.  A guy in the backseat rolled down his window and said, "get on the sidewalk you f-ing b****."  After I got my HR back down from the fright, I felt so angry.  WTH is wrong with people?  I wasn't holding up traffic or doing anything wrong.  So sad.  Then things just went downhill from there.  I didn't get a foot unclipped quickly because my head was elsewhere I went down hard.  No major damage....bloody knee with road rash, huge bruise already forming on my hip, and a scratched up elbow.

Good times.

I have to go unpack box #80 of #2000.  Peace out, folks.

Congrats Karen!  Sweet race.

55 on wheels and 4 on foot for me today.  Run felt really good.  On the Olympics I find it interesting that NBC is so indignant (sp?) about how irritated people are with the tape delay.

Jen - take it easy on your body, especially after a crash. How about taking a day or two and just work on the house - that is cardio enough!!!

I've actually been thinking of bailing on my olympic distance race I have coming up on the 5th.  I love this race, but I am feeling burned out and fatigued.  I shouldn't have trained through the move.  I don't know.  I'm going to see how I feel on Thursday/Friday.
