I'm back from the bowling tournament. Detroit Athletic Club (DAC) killed the Cleveland Athletic Club (DAC) in the 95th annual tournament. I actually bowled very well this year shooting a 710 in my final 3 games (227, 256, 227). This allowed my team to take first place and I won $1,400! It was great. I averaged 206 for the tournament (which is 13 pins better than my league average).

I only got one run in on Thursday. Do I get any points for my bowling time? I put it on my logs! I did get a swim in today (2,300m). I was planning on 2,400, but I got a bad cramp in my calf. First cramp in a long, long time. I believe it was all the alcohol and no working out!

I don't have time to read the last 4 pages today, but will catch-up soon.

Hope all is well for everyone.

add a finish line.

Did the Cops For Cancer 5k this morning. Weather was a challenge. Temp around -5c but quite windy and snowing. Route was 2.5 k slightly downhill with the wind but road was very slick so had to be careful. Back was net uphill and into the wind - yuch !! Finished in 32:30. Close to a hundred participants I would guess. Not bad for a small town on a snowy winter's morning!

Yesterday I did 45 minutes on the bike. Sad to say that is my longest ride in 4 months!

All in all I am very satisfied with what I did this first week of Feb - 3 rides, 4 swims and a race.

Finish line added.

Dan - you get one point per $ won.....that's 1400 points and we ROCK!!!!  No, I think there would be a mutiny if we did that.....what about 1/2 point per $ earned?????  Probably not that either cause Mav would whine......

I am part of a group running the Texas Independence Relay in a few weeks....check it out...a 205 mile relay....should be fun.....we are looking for 2 more runners.....how about it????  Anybody in?????

John, well, i went not from not running entirely, just not running for a year and a half. Yeah, scratch that last comment, I think those two are one and the same

Mav, I know you'll do great on your IMAZ (when is it, btw?)... I can't get the freakies out of my head about a simple marathon, so your distances don't even compute in my head. One day, I'll be there...

John, do you want us to just post the training in the log, OR do you want us to tally it all up and make a separate entry for you on Sunday in the log? let me know what will be easier for you..

I was going to go swim today, but didn't work out with the kids.. but, it's probably for the best, I'm feeling kind of run down (cold-like), and DH is gone till tomorrow night, so I'm home with the kidlets and can't really take a break... so i'm sure no workout day might be good for my system.

off to look for a RoadID..

Lena,

I stand corrected.  My bad.  Just wanted to point out that you ran 14 miles in a very short time.  Way to go.  I will get your numbers off your log.

This Superbowl game is going to give me a heart attack.     On side kick????????

Bryan,

I need a ruling on MSUDan's bowling time.

Rules for points just to make sure
7 points for either 1.2 miles swimming, 56 miles biking, 13 miles running
2 points for 1 hour of activity.

Team POYL  (Passing on your left) totals

Bike:    128.62  2TD's  (14 points)
Run:     79.05    6TD's (42 points)
Swim:  21,121.87 or 12.001 miles or 10TD's (70 points)
1 hour activity    2 hours 27 mins  (4 points)

Wow, didn't realize how important swimming is.

Team total points as of 8:48 pm    130 points

Please let me know if my math is wrong and I did not factor in the bowling activity until I get a ruling on it.

Thanks

Go Colts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Swim swim swim...I knew it would pay off Unfortunately it doesnt pay as much as Dans bowling!!!!

Dan should be able to tally his hours of bowling...not points scored. Not willing to give you 1400 pts along with $$$$$.

WOOO HOOO Pete...thats one frosty 5 K!!!!!! I ran on the dreadmill today 'cause it was just too cold.

GO SAINTS!!!!!

Congrats Billy, Amy, and all the other Saint's fans.  Great game.

I will be in mourning for my Colts though.

Amy, those 20 miles will help in the end but won't change the score for this week.  Thanks though.

I am happy that Drew Brees will get his Super bowl ring.

What I have right now:
Swim: 26527.2 = 96 points
Bike: 176.64 = 22 points
Run: 37.6 = 20 points
3 hrs activity for 6 points
total of 144 points

What I don't have is:
Walker are your numbers complete?
Freddy - You list 4 swims, what was your 4th swim distance and do you have any distances or times for your ride?

Congrats Saints and Saints fans! I didn't watch the game but saw highlites this a.m. as I did 30 minutes of spinnin'.

No idea how to convert time on the trainer to distance so use whatever formula you think reasonable.

Freddy - how about I use 16mph for the length of time you were on the trainer (if you have that length of time I would appreciate it).  Also, what was your distance for the last swim.

Can't tell if I mentioned it but over the weekend I ordered a new wetsuit.  The Xterra full ($149 with the BT code), I have a Blue seventy sleeveless but it's definitely showing its age (and I wanted a new toy after my wife got her new car, new cell phone, etc).  Plus I LRR's comment about fulls being faster than sleeveless is the 2nd time I have heard that.  I will need every little bit of help I can get.  Weather here is sunny, a bit cool, and lite rains are supposedly heading our way.

Nice job everyone on their distances.  Great first week!

Interesting quote today from RunnersWorld... thought Mav would like this:

It doesn't help to visualize a perfect race. It's better to play out bad situations in your mind and figure out a way out of them so you'll be ready.

Gary, i'm jealous! I can't wait to get my first wet suit, but it won't be till next winter. I want to drop all this weight and then really know what to order

From last night and tonight added ~42 miles on the bike and 1371meters in the water (sorry, low swim week for my plan).  Should be adding another 23 miles on the bike tomorrow for the 7 points.  May be next round we make the 56 miles on the bike worth 14 points?  This is a very ride intensive week and will be quite happy if I survive.
