Hiya Nibbs!

I'm tired...up at 4:45 to swim before werk today...Then the coach called off sick and I didn't find out until after my warm up so I didn't have my book of workouts poolside and was too wet to go do a spin class (see, I am turning cyclist after all!)

Scott - Nice to see you!

Actually... that might be a joke that only makes sense if you are Aussie, and used to listen to Get This....

Hi Nibbs!

Another really long day at werk (yep, I'm still here)

But it was good!  I turned over my stuff to IT and we actually had a really great meeting!

Headed out soon!

Artemis - 2008-05-01 11:24 PM So I still haven't heard anything on the HIDA scan.  I called yesterday afternoon and left a message.  I'm hoping I get the results today.

Will keep my fingers crossed Jen!

LOL

In this case it's even more than just getting off of my desk - it was kind of a make or break moment with the IT management staff - I really need to get them to trust that I will deliver what I say I will deliver and I did that

baby steps, but good steps forward in the project from a relationship standpoint!

Almost time to bolt.

It would really be cool working for the Navy in San Diego. San Diego has the best weather in America, hands down.

I LOVE San Diego!

I guess they are still getting used to you - once they KNOW you actually deliver what they need Im sure it will get easier and easier for you

You are absolutely right!

this has been an even bigger task because, well, let's just say there is a lot of baggage from previous experiences that they have had - which, of course had nothing to do with me - but set the stage

I'm hoping I can break through

Good luck - inheriting a problem is never fun

Im sure your sparkly personality will turn them around... if not use fairy dust! Bribes are good too... I find buying people a coffee and having a casual 'chat' (work related or not) works wonders in so many situations!

thanks Cat!  I am certainly not above 'bribing'

As soon as I can break through the wall enough to figure out what would be a good bribe - I'm all over it!

hehe its not really bribes... having a coffee with someone is always a good thing anyway so really the benefits go both ways! (people seem to let their guard dwon when its one on one and not in a meeting room... at least its helped me a lot!)

I totally agree!  These folks are so guarded that I haven't even been able to approach them in the lunch room - they've been burned and I need to tread a bit lightly to get closer to them -

before they know it, they will love me (they just don't know it right now )

btw - are you doing the may challenge?

No Im not in it... they have been more of a hindrance than a help recently...

And I was particularly inspired by the current one! (for starters swimming in an outdoor pool in the middle of winter did not appeal at all!)
