Congrats on the PR's.  A face smush is a good indication that you are pushing yourself!  So, congrats on the face smoosh too!  After my race Sunday I'm really planning on getting back in the swing of things CrossFit wise.

Started with 10 X 1 cleans.  Never done this workout before.  The max I think I've ever cleaned was 75# but I could be wrong.  Today my last three reps were at 100# so that was good.  Tried to maintain good form.

Then Nancy which is 5 rounds of 400 m run then 15 overhead squats.  Prescribed weight for girls is 65# and I dud 60# today.  LAST time I used 50# so this was a nice big jump.  Time today was 24:37 and last time was 24:06.  Nice!

Way to go! Great gains!

I doubled up today because I missed yesterday:

WOD #1. First day trying heavy push jerks.
5 sets of 3 reps of Push Jerks:
1: 115
2: 125
3: 135
4: 140
5: 140

I could have gone heavier. It was getting easier as I got used to the weights. It still wore me out though.

Take a rest for 5-10 minutes.

WOD #2:
Row 2K
OK, I never rowed before. I watched some demo videos this morning. I did a little warm-up and thought it would be OK. I started rowing and I felt great. After about 2 minutes I realized that my buddy was right, "You can't beat the erg." It caught up to me real fast.

Well, I have been slacking off again I'm having trouble getting motivated to work out on my own now that I live far away from my CF gym. Also, the week before last I was sick and couldn't work out, this past week I was just lazy though, doh. I have a race on Sunday and after that I need to get my butt going again! You guys need to yell at me if I keep slacking off :P

I don't like Fran. She's not nice. She looks so kind and gentle, but she's quite nasty.

My first was Helen. She's a firecracker, but she is much gentler than Fran.

Today I did "Jeremy"

Three rounds, 21-15- and 9 reps, for time of:
95 pound Overhead squats
Burpees

I like neither the OHS nor the burpees. I have a hard time with the 95 lbs during the squat. But I guess that's what it's for, right?

---

I'm supposed to do Michael tomorrow. 3 rounds of 800 m, sit-ups, back ext. I don't want to drive all the way to the gym to do it though. I was thinking of either doing a modified version of the back extension or just running some hills instead.

Thoughts?

Just started doing CrossFit this week....Helen was a bit deceiving! I thought it would be easy, but man, I was really sweating after the first round! I held my own and pushed through it though.

Do you guys supplement your usual workouts with CF, or do you do it instead of your usual gym visits? I'm debating on whether or not the WOD is enough for me...

Hi NN!  I popped in because I totally love your screen name, and of course, now I have something to say. I would say that the WOD, if done properly (ie, with perfect proper form, and with no more than the rest prescribed) should kick your a$$ every day.  Obviously you need to get in good SBR w/o's too, so in some cases, CF's might be MORE than you shoudl be doing if you have a hard session planned that day or the day after in one of the events. But I haven;t worked out in 10 months so what do I know

Anyway, welcome, Nurd...
