Hi Cheesecake Lovers --- I may need to adjust my running goal downward somewhat, foot doc confirmed plantar fasciitis today. I got a lovely cortisone shot right in my heel (gross...) and have to take a few days off from impact activities.

Anne

that's a bummer Anne!  I dealt with that last year - ugh

also fwiw - the elliptical counts toward running if worse comes to worse

I ran today! And I didn't cough (more than twice). I felt really good, the shin splints I felt starting last weekend have quieted down quickly. I am soooo relieved.

That is all.

First swim tonight with a tether was a little weird at first but I got into a groove. Also first time I ever swam 30 min straight without stopping to catch my breath just slowed down. Left shoulder didnt bother me, so it must be getting better might be able to do a tri by the  end of summer I hope.

Go team   Smile

After two days of slight "yuck"; I got myself onto the trainer and put in 3/4 hour.  Debating about tomorrow -- I may have a kid-free window in the afternoon -- do I swim or go shopping for clothes?

Howdy from Oregon (Working, not living) Just thought I would check in and see if the thread is running wild without me being desk bound 9 hours a day and I see it is!

Welcome Amy and I hope everyone had a cheesecake filled weekend

BTW - I am on a mission - To convince my wife to move to Bend, OR - Flat out beautiful.  Grew up in Colorado, been to Scotland, Traveled all of America mostly and this place is numero uno.  So if you ever want somewhere awesome to visit - book a flight to Portland (Don't fly direct to Bend because you will miss the drive) and drive to Bend via Mt. Hood - WOW!!!

Interesting... hubby and I have always said if we were to leave Ut it'd be to head to Or or Wa (though I'd prefer Ak - Kenai/Anchorage area)

Ah, but.... is the dog tired? That's the real question.

Rarely if ever!  I did wear him out on the 2.5 hour run Sunday, but that was the first time I was able to take him running in a while so he was a bit out of shape.  He slept all day.  Sometimes I wish I was a dog!!

Swam this morning.  Reduced summer hours at the pool made it quite crowded.  Time to start emailing the new director to make some changes.

Wow, it's only the 4th and you guys are already on page 11. I'll have to peruse that last 10 pages to see what I've missed.

Absolutely. Azz kicking is what we do best.

I don't want to put any pressure on the team, but I've been on the winning teams two months in a row. It's not because I hit all my goals, because I've yet to get them all to 100%. I'm more like a lucky rabbit's foot. That said, I think we've got this in bag.

Here are my goals:

Swim: 6 hrs

Bike: 13 hrs

Run: 8 hrs

Decisions, decisions! Retail therapy, swim therapy...hmmm...I think the jury's still out on that one. I guess it depends onhow many holes are in your clothes or if you're still trying to pass off that christmas sweater as seasonably correct.
